The Official Comic Cookout Six: Nashvegas! (2009) Thread

Post by Fading Aura »

To start off with, the official website:

http://cookout.comicgenesis.com

Things have switched up a bit this year; the cookout has moved down south to Nashville, Tennessee, and Aggie Janicot will be hosting (much to the relief of the Kolters)! From June 4 - 7, 2009, it's being hosted at the La Quinta Inn & Suites at Nashville Airport/Opryland with transportation available to and from the airport (Nashville International, BNA).

As always, all are welcome to attend. :D

A few highlights:

* Like last year, the cost of registration is just $35. This will go fully towards paying cookout expenses.
* We will be renting a 12 passenger van for getting about Nashville for cookout hijinks!
* Neely's, one of the best BBQ joints in Nashville, will be catering.
* Events need to be suggested! If you feel like running a roleplaying game, bringing your wii, dragging others out for karaoke or anything else, post here or let us know!

Thanks to rkolter for handling donations this year!

Thank you so much Aura for doing all this work on the website. It looks awesome.

I also want to thank everyone who has or will have worked on the Cookout. My partner in crime Reinder will be helping a lot come Cookout weekend and the Nashvegas crew too. *hugs*

*hugs*

Assuming paypal went through without a hitch, Jacqui and I are officially registered. Now we just have to convince Stinky.

Kolter's aren't handling the donations page this year - that went to Fadie. We pretty severely underestimated what it takes out of you to raise a baby. :)

But, we are planning to come. Tristan is coming with. Our standing rules for prior cookouts were that kids under 12 were free but with the proviso that it wasn't a wholly kid-friendly event. Do those rules hold true for Cookout VI?

Ryan:

From the cookout website: 5) Children are welcome, but please be warned that there will be limited activities for them. Please be advised that children will need to be with a parent or guardian at all times due to possible swearing, silly anctics and the like. We are not responsible for babysitting or accidents. We only ask that you care for your child in a responsible manner during the cookout.

So bring the spawn. I'm pretty sure Tristan wont care about entertainment anyway :P

Heh. That shows me for not seeing if you'd changed anything on the cookout website. Tristan'll be easy to deal with I think - he loves noisy places, and I've already taught him to flip people the bird.

You are an awesome father, Ryan. :D

And yes, I definitely plan on coming. Karaoke could be very fun.

Edit: Moved my roomie comment to the other thread.

I'll be making a donation to the CG fund close to the cookout. Since there's not a lot of folks signed up right now, and none on the donation list, pointless of me to donate.

Chris sucks. Tell him he's needed. He has to come visit. We'll even pay is $35 fee. It's no fair, he never shows.

Questions for me, alas. We're doing the fly-in on Thursday, catered on Saturday, and flyout Sunday like years gone by?

Also, I need to get that cam switched out for a dedicated CG account, and get the video processed via my Mac at home. More convoluted setup, alas.

That's the plan as far as I know. Keep an eye on this page for things that might be going on.

Just send me the code to embed whenever it's ready. ;)

I really want to go to this, but alas, I can't. 17 + no cash + no chance in hell my parents will pay or provide transportation =
Well, next year, maybe.

I regret to inform that I had to take the steps to change my attendance from the 75 % so far, to fully 100 % !

Yes, the tickets has been bought, and I will at the cookout once again! :D
