Cookout Art Thread

Postby Cortland on Mon Jun 05, 2006 9:14 pm

I didn't see a thread for the volumes of sketches and artwork we made at the cookout, so I thought I'd start one, particularly since some of you might want to see the little mini live comic jam that got started. 8-)

Muaahaahaa. Keeping Dawg traumatized was my favorite part.

Also, I somehow ended up in there three times, in three different avatars. Rawk.

I started drawing this girl grinning in people's sketchbooks. She looks like one of the girls in my comic but she's no one in particular.

I drew the bear taking the call in the last panel of page one. It's Sincerely taking out a hit in Derenge.

I am now tempted to do a 'night of the living bread' off topic comic because of the high demand for zombie toast.

Here's my stuff, all scanned in:

Faub finds the only way to make Jim North look scarier (I'm serious, the man has the crazy eyes)

Image

Mixed Myth's homage to swords:

Sincerly's big sword, and derenge's stinky ass.

Derenge's hot ass this time

Brock attempts to justify blatantly stealing my character

NJ is also Orion's fiance of sexy passion with the love of a thousand sea monkeys

I saw the little comic, but I couldn't think of anything to add.

I know Rock made a folder for this in his Photobucket thingy.

Anyway...when we recover...I slept 11 hours today....I'll post the stuff people doodled on my big bristol board. Can't wait to frame it and hang it up in the new crib in under 8 weeks.

Didn't have the account info for Rock's photobucket thingy, so I'm posting them all here instead.

My sketches:

Image
With: Pimpette, K-Dawg, Fading Aura, Sparrow, Rock, JTigerclaw, Remus, dragonmajik, Spriteville, faub and DarkMagician.
Most Inspirational Sketch goes to: Pimpette. Not only does she make Wampus look cuter than ever, but she set a seed in my head. I sense a Cute Critter Jam sometime in the future.

Image
With: sincerely, cortland, MixedMyth, brockway, Derenge, Christwriter, rkolter and Joel Fagin.
See? rkolter can draw. Don't let him tell you otherwise. ;)

Image
With: StrRedWolf, ChaosBurnFlame, yeahduff and PeppermintAfterlife.
PAL makes me look awfully creepy.

Image
Funniest Sketch goes to: Jim North. Jymbiote! Rar!

Image
Most Awesome Sketch goes to: Cookie. She wasn't sure what to draw, so I directed her to some reference sketches I made. She managed to cram at least ten kinds of awesome into this piece. Thank you!

Image
Poor Orion can't escape the zombie toast.

I'm pretty sure I didn't sketch in everyone's books. I'd be more than happy to draw something up now for those who missed out, if you really wanted.

More sketches! Scan, people, scan!

Also Lego, you didn't upload the sketch I drew in your sketchbook into the photobucket. :( Or if so, I didn't see it.

K, here's my sketchbook art from the cookout.

SKETCHES

Pimpette wins the award for best art in my sketchbook, because she is the only one to ink hers. Also, Pimpette rules because she totally claimed nearly a page and a half for herself. ^_^

Image

Faub gets 2nd, only because he didn't have time to finish since we had to rush off to the restaurant. I really like it though. (and thanks to Vort for the other sketch on the page.)
