about 17 hours actual driving time for me, not counting stops. Doin' it alone, and breaking it up into three days, 4-6.5-6.5. This will ensure that I will not fall asleep and die in a horrible accident.

I have almost fallen asleep while driving before and I have no desire to do it again, thanks.

1st Rock update via his Grandmother.

Grandma called and left a message on the machine while we were out. Seems he's now leaving Salt Lake City, UT. Been trying to call us but having problems. To be expeceted in the desert with not that many cell towers around. Got his cell number from Grandma and left him a voice message. Probably get a full update once he hits Denver at about 7am CT (our time) on Tuesday.

Personally I've never driven for longer than like an hour at a stretch before. This ought to be... interesting.

Two (prolly more like three) hours by bus, two hours at the airport, three hours by plane. Wheee.

Iv'e only been on a trip 13 long once. But there was a lot of just turning off the truck and chilling before trafic moved 15 to 20 feet, before just chilling again. But this shouldnt be to bad. I'm planing on leaving my house at about 6am. Then end up ther around 8pm. Granted I dont have to put up with much bad traffic.

Ryan and I drove from St. Louis to Orlando back in '01. Took us roughly 24 hours. That included everything you can think of doing with a straight through drive - switching drivers, potty/muchie breaks, food breaks, etc.

We then drove down to Naples from Orlando later that same week to see his grandmother. The drive home was from Naples to St. Louis. We were so slap happy we were changing drivers every ten minutes towards the end.

If you can survive a drive that long with your SO/friend(s), damn it, keep them!

I've ridden for hours on end when I was little on family vacations...but the longest I've ever driven was last year to the cookout with Jim as the passenger.

Anyway, he just left Kansas City, MO. So if anyone in Missouri see an Grayhound bus on I-70 east, make sure to wave at Rock

So, we get this call at 2am from Rock, saying he got into town early. Yeah... uhm... tough.
