Cookie's Music-at-the-Cookout Thread.
As it turns out, I can't come to the cookout.
...
Gotcha! April's Fools!
...Okay, I hear ya, "That's not funny at all you jerk!"... and I'll get punished for this at the cookout in some twisted way, won't I? <_< >_> <_<
Also, Robin will bop me on the head. Repeatedly. >_>
Aw c'mon, someone had to do something like that today!
The actual reason I'm posting though (despite the fact that I am not, you know): I need to prepare for the cookout and therefor I have to know in all honesty whether it's worth for me to take my guitar with me to St. Louis because so far only one person has responded to this. I know we'll have little time there and there are a whole bunch other activities planned, so I won't be offended if there's no opportunity for me to play, and the music doesn't have much to do with comics anyway, so I leave the decision entirely to you people.
This thread is not meant to be me fishing for compliments, I just need concrete answers to these questions:
- Do you want me to play a bit of live music at the cookout? (I'm talking about 30-60 minutes depending on how much time there is and what condition I'll be in.) (Also, it's not like everybody has to sit there listening to it.)
- Is there a special song you want me to play, or do you want to sing a song together with me? (This bit isn't all THAT important because I CAN come up with songs myself. It's more important to know whether I should prepare for this and bring my guitar at all because if I do so, I will invest time in rehearsing and stuff. =P)
Thank you.
(I realize I could've posted this in the original cookout thread that I fear people won't see it and I'd really like to get everyone's opinion.. well everyone who'll be there.)

Edit: *actually reads the rest*
Just one respondant? Was that me? I did make a request but given the circumstances to hand, perhaps it didn't get through.

I would SO bop you, did I not fear retaliatory noogies.
I'm not even attending the cookout and yet I still feel a TREMENDOUS NEED to bop you on the head. T_T

Excellent... My plan to make everybody dislike me in order to relieve them of the pain it is to not have me around seems to be working!*various bopping*
Okay, so then I will be playing. I'll bring my crappy guitar because I don't want to run the risk of ruining my less crappy guitar.
So far three people requested songs, and I have my own list of songs I would like to play. But I'd still take requests if anyone has any, new songs or recorded ones, cover songs or songs I wrote, whatever.
Go to my music website to find those records I consider the least crappy ones; any of those I am definitely willing to play. (There are also a few new songs not posted on the forums because they were recorded after I left.)
And also, to make things easier for you, here's a (somewhat) complete list of the songs I've posted in the old thread. The songs in brackets are songs I don't really want to play for different reasons. :/
Daysleeper
Nobody does it better
Transantlanticism
High and dry
End of the road
Fischerlied
Jolene
Then you kissed me
Time of your life
Fake plastic trees
Another sad song
Straight up
Don't think twice it's alright
Grow old with you
Ode to my family
99 Luftballons
Never tear us apart
Nowhere man
Die for you
Fix you
Not in Nottingham
Last stop this town
Something changed
North Country Blues
Desperate Andy
Eve of destruction
Leaving on a jetplane
Stray cat strut
Can't smile without you
Lay lady lay
This place is a prison
Road to nowhere
Seven years
Someday someday
Whatever
Ant farm
Whiskey lullaby
Only you
Every rose has its thorn
Dirty old town
Lonestar
Cry to me
Smile
Breathe
Friends in low places
When december (september) ends
Octopus garden
Bizarre love triangle
Humpty dumpty lovesong
Another lonely day
Change
Do you sleep
Ain't no sunshine
Ain't that just the way
Falling in love
Bridges
Losing hope
Positively 4th street
Foolish games
What can I do
In my life
I shot the sheriff
Top of the world
For my lover
Most of the time
Mountains o' things
Play crack the sky
Through the dark
Some sad song
Drive
The great song of indifference
(You're the inspiration)
(I don't know how to love him)
(Take my breath away)
(Hand that feeds)
(Earth angel)
(Time after time)
(I'm too sexy) <- I mean, really. Please.
(Fever)
(True colors)
(Shangri-La) <- love that song but I'd probably mess up
(Sloop John B)
(Bitch)
(Can't buy me love)
(So far away)
(Eternal flame)
(Somebody to love)
(Cekaj me) <- I'd totally screw up the lyrics and Lego would laugh
(Deeper than the holler)
(Ventura highway)
Self-written stuff/ rip-offs: (some of them also available on my website)
Bob of us (What If Bob Would Get A Girl)
Better every day
Unknown variables
Brand new world
Sad
Hey hey
April 14th blues
Like a zombie
You and I
The Outraged Song
Keenspace chat ("House of New Orleans" parody)
Going to Comicgen (San Francisco ripoff)
The Ballad of Mr Legostar (written by Vort)
(...man, there's a lotta songs...)
I'd tell you, but then you might want to kill me, so... nyah.Rock wrote:Also, what was your AF joke before?
Kay people, that's all from me for now.
But remember...
I'm watching you.

I wasn't going to post any more, grrr.
Thanks for the proposed / requested songs so far. If you request a song by sending me an email or PM, I will as of now reply to those to confirm I got your request, just so there isn't any further confusions as there was with Joel's request.
Don't give me that face. (I swear, you only did that to make me post. Didn't you? Didn't you??)
It's one of the songs I'd probably mess up when playing live.

*is spited... spitten... sput?*rock_dash wrote:So?! Everybody makes mistakes, especially around here! C'mon, if I can't hear Ventura Highway, I'm gonna request Simple and Clean again just to spite you
*grumble*
Why not "I shot the sheriff"? That was one of yours too!
If it means that much to you I'll play "Ventura Highway" but it ain't gonna be pretty.
How about I sweaten the deal? You do Ventura Highway, and I'll do a request of yours? Doesn't have to be music, can be whatever you want.
I KNOW I'm asking for trouble with this, and yet I don't stop typing. Why?
Edit: Did I really request 'I Shot the Sheriff'? That is a good one too...how many cookout song requests do we get? >_>;
