The trip would be roughly 1000 miles, so you're talking about a 2 or 3 day car trip (depending on how long the drive is each day) just to get there. And, of course, the 2-3 day trip to return east. So you're looking at a week long trip (or longer) all put together. And you have to factor in the extra hotel rooms and meals and gas on top of all that.

Seriously, I think you'd be better off flying directly to St. Louis. Or, if the pricing works out, take the cheaper flight to the US and then switch to a smaller (cheaper) airline for the rest of the trip.
I have to agree with this sentiment. Stinky and I don't live very far from Tim, and the only way we're going to be able to make the trip is if we fly.

Yeah, right
that would be most amusing, you know, for the rest of us.

I'm envisioning a Harold and Kumar go to White Castle type thing. Working title = The Midwestern Quest of 3 East Coasters and a Foreigner .

More like 2 East Coasters, a Southern expat, and a foreigner...which makes the title far too long and awkward, so instead I'm suggesting "Saint Lou Electric Boogaloo."

I just looked into American Airlines from Malta to St. Louis tonight. Economy class with restrictions. Leaving June 3rd, 2007 and returning June 11, 2007. Cost with taxes and etc comes to roughly $1,200 USD.

That's not bad actually. Close to what we raised to get Cookie over here last year.

You raised the money to get Cookie over? I'm going to be honest, I'm in complete and total AWE :o I always thought of the fund as just something to buy domestic flights for 4 or 5 people.

We raised the money to do that too.

Denial is not falsification. You can't avoid a fact just because you don't like it.

And then she was bitten by a mite and died of lyme disease.

It's a little early for people to start worrying about not being able to get there. Start saving your pennies for room and board, and put your name into the list when the flight pool opens. We'll get you to Geekstock somehow.

Lets just say that wishes for both birthday and christmas has been fairly easy to put down this time around... cash, cheques, transfers... money of all kinds has been accepted for the Send-Hogan-to-the-5-inch-party-in-St. Louis foundation!

There's no way you'll be able to keep me and my axe away!
