first day back to work... and it was nine times as bad. and I guess I got a bit of my accent back while in London... cause every one was like "where are you from" then I tell them wales and they laugh at me J/k.

I'm still stumbling around. Like, I was trying to check out this career fair, and I had to sit down! Some good news, though: Siemens has a Fairbanks office, they're hiring interns, and they're having an information session tonight. Maybe they'll hire me? I doubt it, but it'd probably be worth trying.

So, heard back about the car today.

They put the oil thing on, but the engine was still very angry and unhappy. So . . . new engine. By which I mean 'new used engine'.

So, like . . . 4,000 dollars.

Luckily, insurance will cover it, and my car will be returned to me in a new conglomerate of pieces.


On the bright side, my new job is becoming steadily less frightening. And they gave me a tee shirt, water bottle, and coffee mug today, so they probably think I'm worth keeping around.

(Yeah, it was snowing here this morning. What the hell! It's supposed to be Spring! The pretty trees have started flowering and there were bees a couple weeks ago!)

Someone was having a "War Profiteer Awards Ceremony" at school today. They were pretending to be people from Blackwater and Haliburton and giving made-up speeches in character from behind a podium and everything. And it was out in public.

I went to Hooters while ago (I'd never been to one before) and had a pretty good sandwich. It was buffalo chicken, with cheddar cheese. Heheh...My friend Kris and I got into a discussion about whether or not the waitress's 'uniforms' would be uncomfortable...so I asked our waitress, and she agreed with what I'd said (that yeah they would be uncomfortable). Damn, I wish I'd bet him money on that one!
