The storm "Emma" that hit Europe yesterday and today got the library closed down, because apparently there's the danger of parts of the glass facade falling down.

Just measured the snow outside the house. We have a foot (12 inches).

But Kwill! It's snow! Now is not a time to ! Now is a time to:

a) Frolic
b) Write stuff on the hillsides
c) Make snow angels
d) Tell everyone in the area that it's totally snowing, even though they have (hopefully) already figured that one out

(It's acceptable to bitch if any case of a vehicle getting stuck in the snow inconveniences you in any way, just so you know)

I'm quickly running out of sick days due to the weather (sleet/ice/snow). My workplace doesn't shut down for weather. Nope, the childcare portion stays open until Hades literally freezes over. Up to us to see if there is danger in driving to work. And being one of the further out, it's not worth it. And on top of it, I have to reschedule my appointment today. So yet another day I need to take off - probably w/o pay.

I said it was snowing, not that it stayed. It came down in droves and promptly melted because temperatures have been in the two digit positives (celsius) up until now. Means, no writing and no snow angels, just icky cold clumps of frozen water coming down. =(

I had quite the opposite problem. No snow, but busses have stopped running back in Berlin (as have the underground trains) due to a strike. Tomorrow, the rest of mass transit will join them. The only positive thing I can glean from this is that I made it back home in time.
