That's why it's opinion, cat. Cause it's not fact. Pointy hair isn't necessarily anime. It's just a trait that SOME anime artists use, much like how SOME cartoonists from the states us it, and SOME comic artists like to use pointy hair SOMEtimes.

Anime =/= pointy

But it is derived from anime, so now people like you are using it uncritically and it's taken out of context. It might've had some angle in anime, where chins and everything else is pointy too but, in other styles, when there's a pointy hair, there's nothing to reflect it in other facial features.

So to have a character with pointy hair they must have pointy features somewhere else? I think not. If someone is infact anime in influenced doesn't mean they have to draw things just like 100% like other anime styled art.

Bah. Pointy hair is the only real way to draw hair accurately anyways.

Okay, I confess! I draw pointy hair on background guys because drawing male hair is damn hard. You have the permission to shoot me. :(

...but at least, my main characters don't have pointy hair. They have gravity-defying-must-require-ten-litres-of-hair-gel-each-morning-WEIRD hair, but it's not pointy. I think.

Even mcduffies knows pointy is the only way to draw hair.

DISCRIMINATION!

There's no pointy hair in real life!
that's the point! I mean, the edge.

There, you see? People do it because it's easier.

Bah. Pointy hair is the only real way to draw hair accurately anyways.

It's that kind of thinking that plagues internet.

Why is this an argument?

So some people draw hair a certain way. Why automatically liken it to anime? or anything?
Pointy hair is just an aspect that can be applied to any style. It can be used to make hair easier to deal with when drawing, it can be used to show a characters personality. I use pointy hair but I also use NOT pointy hair. I don't think just saying it comes from DBZ means anything. I hate DBZs style I think it's blocky and plain, and people just aren't made that way. I also hate the square way hair and other things in it are drawn.

The logic of pointy hair is like the logic for anything. If it fits, it fits. If it doesn't it doesn't.

A point is where two lines meet. I don't see how you can draw hair without making a point.

Yeah, but what about those who use pointy hair on all characters, regardless of whether it fits? Like Tdot?

The only thinking thats on the internet that could be labeled a plague is the thinking that everything anime, sharp, pointy, or all around cool looking is some kind of desecration to everything we hold dear and love.

We all draw pointy hair. Every last one of us, in some panel or another, we've had pointy. It's cause pointy hair rocks, and in many instances, the only way you can draw hair accurately and not look like an amature. Face it, Duff. It's just the way to go. Even you've done it, parody or not.

I say all you anime bashers get off your high horses. This crap is getting rediculous.

But in real hair, if a single hair is a line, it's a point when tho hairs meet exactly at the ends of each. Noone has mair with ends glued to each other.

That's just how tdot is

Why do you draw things the way you do?
the things that you have learned from and have influenced you along the way.

Well, we aren't all raised on Goku.
We all draw pointy hair. Every last one of us, in some panel or another, we've had pointy.

But it's different if I am parodying because I am trying to show how ridiculous pointy hair looks.

It's cause pointy hair rocks, and in many instances, the only way you can draw hair accurately and not look like an amature.

That's nonsence, there are so many artists who draw non-pointy hair and still look very professional!

Face it, Duff. It's just the way to go. Even you've done it, parody or not.

What? Just because I hate anime I am on a high horse? If anybody is elitist around here, it's you anime lovers.

This crap is getting rediculous.

No, it isn't.

Yes but there are so many people who won't read comic until it has giant eyes. Just think of so many anime fantasy webcomics who updated three times and then abandoned it.

But there are also people who wont read a comic if it has giant eyes

and there are just as many regular cartoon style comics that start and fade away
