Pointy hair? I kinda have some pointy hair going on, but I'm pretty sure Scary-Go-Round was my main influence there, not really anime. And I do it not because I can't find a different way to draw hair, but because it was the first somewhat decent way I found.

I was under the impression that Pointy Hair ment "Any portion of hair that ends in a point."

...which actually includes quite a few art styles.

Well, it doesn't neccesary mean that it's not influenced by something that is anime influenced. Neko here probably saw some things that were (not so strongly) anime influenced so he drew influence from them and, not knowingly, from anime.
Besides, are you saying that public opinion isn't always right?

That's why it's opinion, cat. Cause it's not fact. Pointy hair isn't necessarily anime. It's just a trait that SOME anime artists use, much like how SOME cartoonists from the states us it, and SOME comic artists like to use pointy hair SOMEtimes.

Anime =/= pointy

For crying out loud, even it's influenced by something that was influenced by something draw by someone who saw some anime show that had pointy hair thus he decided intergrate pointy hair in his art style doesn't justify one saying it's a "lame excuse for artists who can't get to draw a decent non-pointy hair."

Anime =/= pointy

But it is derived from anime, so now people like you are using it uncritically and it's taken out of context. It might've had some angle in anime, where chins and everything else is pointy too but, in other styles, when there's a pointy hair, there's nothing to reflect it in other facial features.
