Well you have to draw yourself in, you have to accept whatever another artist does to you (no godmodding there's a pretty good example of this if you can find a link to the illfated "KeenCruise" and what will happen to you), try to make your comics not all self centered and try to throw some plot twists and stuff to move it along.
These are all suggestions of course, ultimately to get in just start drawing.
