wooo.. how much do they take for taxes in canada anyway?
EVERYTHING, GODDAMMIT

But seriously, anywhere from about 0 to 30 per cent of your taxable income, depending on how rich a bastard you are, whether you're in school, etc. Also, there's the 13 per cent you pay in sales taxes. \o/
http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tax/individual ... tes-e.html

Federal tax rates for 2008 are:

* 15% on the first $37,885 of taxable income, +
* 22% on the next $37,884 of taxable income (on the portion of taxable income between $37,885 and $75,769), +
* 26% on the next $47,415 of taxable income (on the portion of taxable income between $75,769 and $123,184), +
* 29% of taxable income over $123,184.

Plus:

Ontario 6.05% on the first $36,020 of taxable income, +
9.15% on the next $36,021, +
11.16% on the amount over $72,041

AND:

5% GST (all provinces)
and
8% PST (Ontario, provinces differ, 0% in Alberta to 10.5% in PEI)

About how much of that do you get back at the end of the year though? I'm taxed about 30% between State and Federal, but end up paying about 11% once I get my refund fully sorted out each year.

You're only learning this now? Windsor is a disgusting city, too, and I blame that on its proximity to Detroit.
We're still trying to decide if the shitty Canadian customs people suck cause they're Canadian but have been corrupted by Detroit, or they were shitty so Canada sent them to Detroit.

We already knew Detroit sucked.

The music at the candy store is beginning to make me a little crazy.

On a happier note I think I got a dollar raise to start doing some design work around the store. That was random and out of the blue and totally awesome.
And I can't wait until we have phone/internet again.
Until then I'll just keep playing more Lego Star Wars. I forgot how much fun it was.

Me? I found up owing the gov't a few dollars. So uh.. nothing.

Ever since I left the first call center job, I've been getting stuck with paying additional taxes.

I've had conjunctivitis (pinkeye) this week, which has made reading (which I like to do before bed) and doing anything during the day completely unbearable, due to bright light making it feel like someone was jabbing an icepick in my eye. Yet, somehow, I managed to keep my comic going instead of taking time off to heal. Thankfully it's pretty much receded, although my eye is still bloodshot.

Now I'm sitting here telling y'al; about this while listening to a Bob Marley album. If I only had a spliff right now, everything would be groovy.

Pfft, considering it's the Kolters as the parents, I'd say 3 or 4 years tops. ;)
