Cause they are like... digital communities in the world wide web... so... geocities. Deep.

I thought curvedspaces was cool, till they lost my email address and password and are now hosting my files out of my control. And won't talk to me and may be dead.

Guys... you may not have noticed, but it's done.

Webcomicspace and Toonspace now both redirect to Keenspace.

I suppose it doesn't represent a final decision, yet, because the data is still on Keenspace, but it's interesting... I guess ComicGen and SharpComics were a no-go. :(

Well, the others may direct here but there has still been no official announcement. We simply do not know. It's not hard to set that up, plus it's two different domains, so what are we? Toonspace or Webcomicspace? I don't think we're going to be both. So until we hear a definitive answer from someone in charge I Really wouldn't that "it's done."

No, I'm pretty sure it's Geocities. All of their programs and their confusing page layouts and their various annoying marketing strategies have a unique demon running each one. In the acid pits of Pagebuilder, sinners and nonsinners alike are tortured without mercy, and the steel spikes of the File Manager forever pierce the souls of the damned.

No, seriously. It's true.

*sticks her head in with an embarised grin.*

I picked .toonspace because I thought it was cuter. I happen to like laughing at myself when I take things too seriously. Voted for "Doombees" last time, too. :)

Laughing at yourself kinda keeps things fresh. Best work I've ever done is when I say "I honestly don't care about it" and just DO it.

Funny, that.

I am resistant to change for three reasons:

1. the "keenspace" url is already printed on my massive amount of propaganda, and entered into various databases and listings.

2. Keenspace is simple to say, spell, and is widely recognised.

3. The word keenspace is also classy, which niether of the choices can offer; short and unilliterative, adding to the sophisticated air, and altogether awesome.

Toonspace sounds unattractively juvenile, webcomicspace too generic and unremarkable, and comicgenesis both pretentious and potentially difficult to spell and type. Ease in spelling and typing are important for easy acess to your own ftp server, and when new and probably initially disinterested readers try to half-heartedly find your site. Accuse me of lacking faith in humanity all you like, but people are lazy, judge books or comics by their titles, and if something turns out to be remotely hard they don't baother with it unles they have some personal investment, which is unlikely unless they're your own friend from school.

Do you hear what I mean?

Yes, and you've just summed up exactly what I hate about all three names. I would still go with "ToonSpace" in a pinch, only because it's the simplest. "ComicGenesis" is both too complex and nonsensical.

So many concurrently running threads makes it confusing what the name change is going to be, but I don't really care at this point since I havent' updated in months.

Okay. It doesn't matter what we think about Keenspace's name change. Personally I'm not happy with it either. However, due to constant confusion on who is Keenspot and who is Keenspace and what the purpose of each company is, the ownership of Keenspot is having Keenspace's name changed.

The reason for changing it from Toonspace may have something to do with another person using the name currently and Keenspot didn't want to step on any toes.

Oh, and while I suspect they might be going with ComicGenesis, I suspect they'll go with the comicgen.com url, which is actually shorter than Keenspace (by one letter, but still it sinks the primary complaint about webcomicspace being too long).
