Hands I knew. Feet, I didn't. Check.

Twenty-five-ish. If she looks older, it's probably rubbing out marks masquerading as wrinkles. If she looks younger it's probably because she has a big head.* Image

Her head makes her look like "anime granny" with a flat chest. You know, not exactly rendered in a way that would realistically look old, but is supposed to indicate through use of a couple symbols that they are old.

The chest is flat because she's weaing a breastplate but, now that you mention it, it could use a little more room. The hair probably contributes to the granny-ness but I was being logical and thought she'd tie it up for combat. It used to be dramtically flying free.

I'm terrible with logic like that. The trouble is I like drama. The logic just trumps it anyway.

I'll do something with the hair too. It's a pretty boring style anyway. I should find something more interesting (but logical).

To get a proper balance of logic and drama, her hair should in fact be tied up with loose strands wisping about. They don't need to be thick wavy locks such as if it were undone, but small portions that have come undone. Also, it will help frame her face better and make her appear younger.

Additional alternatives are the use of a ponytail, or to move the knot further to the back rather than having it sit higher on the head. The latter option creates a more youthful appearance for some reason, in my opinion.

Yeah, long and flowing hair is not ideal for a battle situation where it could get in the way or get grabbed by an enemy. A bun is the best way to keep hair out of your face, but sometimes the parts near the hairline aren't long enough to stay in place. I speak as someone who had to wear buns a lot for dance; unless you use gobs of hairstyling gel, parts of it will fall out.

speaking as someone who has danced with girls with long hair, hair can be just as much of a weapon as a liability.

As someone with over two feet of hair, I feel obligated to chime in on this...

No matter how cool it looks when it's flowing after a heroine's movements, long hair is ALWAYS a liability. I wear a braid most of the time, and, sure, when I accidentally (hee hee) whip people by turning around too quickly, it gives them a little sting on the cheek.... but is that really going to make a difference in a fight? If I get in a scuffle, my opponent need only grab my braid, and I'm effectively immobilized, because, by controlling my hair, he's controlling my head and therefore controlling my center of gravity. Even if a heroine has awesome kung fu moves to combat this maneuver, it's still precious time that could have been avoided if her hair were tied up or cut short.
This is going in my notebook titled "Things I Didn't Know about Surface Dwellers."

Hair gets in the way.
You don't want to have to brush hair out of your face while aiming, fighting... Whatever. Most of the time it's also an inconvenience while doing hard labor as well (digging yourself a foxhole, for example).
You don't want hair to get caught in the seam of your gasmask if you ever have to use it (this is also why shaving is mandatory).
You don't want hair to get caught in your webbing, your pack, your kit, your weapon... Anything you have to carry over your shoulders or back.

Hairnets are probably a better idea than hairgel.
Hairgel might be flammable, or reactive in a chemical warfare environment, if it smells it might allow the enemy to detect you, it might allow dirt to stick easier to your hair (bad for hygiene).
Nets are also available in a non-industrial society, and the re usability is far better than gel.

EDIT: Of course, this is all assuming a dedicated warrior would want to have long hair. Easiest way to deal with long flowing hair is to chop it off before someone else can get a chance to.

If I was fighting someone with long hair, that'd be the first thing I'd grab. Free handle attached to the back of your head. Score!

If I ever have to fight someone with pointy hair, my dying move (seeing as they're likely either one of the main, named heroes or villains, while I, lacking pointy hair and likely wearing some sort of helmet if possible, would only qualify as nameless opponent) would have to test if it's flammable.
