I was taken by all the lovely crests that were on all the Association Football jerseys that people were wearing in Ireland, so I decided that Rosander University (the fictitious school in The End of Things) needed a crest too. This is what I have so far and it is subject to much change.

Lots of people wearing Manchester United jerseys there.

Nah, no I didn't get to do any hurling. I saw a kid walking around with a hurley though.

I know some latin roots, but don't really know all that much. The top part is just supposed to be "from the beginning to the end or dividing line." The second line I want to go for "through death there is rebirth or change" but don't know what to write it, so I just have "to burn or scorch" for the moment.

The ball is called a sliotar and is roughly baseball sized. I picked one up at a shop and it was pretty dense and heavy, though a little softer than an baseball but still pretty hard. And the seams are raised.

I don't think I'd want to get hit by one of those. European sports always seem a lot more tougher than American sports. No helmets, all guts.
