Fun with telemarketing

The happening place to be. Unless you go somewhere else that's more stimulating.

Post by TheSuburbanLetdown »

A guy I know on another forum had this coversation with a telemarketer. I don't really like antagonizing people, but this made me laugh.

Heehee xD. I feel so bad for telemarketers though. They make themselves such easy targets.
Ever felt like a little bug in a big world? Yeah so do we ;)

Well, from what I know, telemarketers get paid pretty well for the amount of work they do. My cousin did it for a year in college to make ends meet, and he got paid something like ten dollars an hour when minimum wage was a lot lower than it is now. I wouldn't feel too bad about putting them through some shit now and then.

It takes a special kind of jerk to actually like being a telemarketer.

I'm just glad there's finally the "Do Not Call" government list. Even so the company's that you voluntarily do business with can call you.

Every so often I get a call from my dial-up provider(it's not AOL and it's not a local provider). They try to get me to upgrade to DSL, but my bottom line is: make it under $30 Amerikan total per month forever and we'll talk. Otherwise fuck off.

The last time I expressed this idea, albeit politely, I had to give up, because the cunt continued to yammer about benefits I don't need and I could still hear her talking as I replaced the handset into the cradle.

Even with the discount I get through my college, cable internet here is still $35 a month.

(I get it for "free" [yeah, right] on campus, of course.)

The last time I talked to a telemarketer, I tried selling SBC service to a MCI rep. He gave up on that one.
