I usually post silly poems in the SayBox, but this is a silly poem that is too long to go there--unless I was to put it in installments (a la Dickens) and most of the crowd would probably just say, "Who is this guy and why is there one stanza of a lame poem here--"
You know what? I'm over-explaining it. Here's the poem, folks:
“Webcomic Artist”
I drew a comic on the ‘net;
It had received no comments. Yet,
No comments seemed to say to me:
“Unworthy of our time is he.”
I wrote a comment in reply,
Since no one commented—but I
Did not reveal that it was me:
I hoped that everyone would see.
I answered what I’d written there,
But once again did not declare
That I was answering my own
Reply. I signed my words, “Unknown.”
I checked the page for weeks on end
Expecting to have lured a friend,
But just as silently it sat:
My art and comments fallen flat.
And when at last I’d given in,
Refused to check the page again,
One lonely hit was counted there—
Though I, of course, was unaware.
Like shadows crossing in the night,
Untouching, unseen and unheard,
We went our separate ways and I
Closed down my site and disappeared.

Yeah, it's pretty emo. I don't know what it means, either, because I've never actually tried to do an online comic; the poem just barfed out fully formed like a memory of actual events.
Even sadder: this poem is true for so many artists.
