Musical Obsessions?

Post by 011010110 »

Just to see if anyone still checks this forum:

For some reason, I've got Killer Queen (the single) on a loop right now, and I don't feel like changing the playlist. Anybody out there ever listen to a song twenty times in a row?

I also listened to Cigarettes and Chocolate Milk by Rufus Wainwright over and over again for a whole day when I got it--before mixing it in with my other music.

What song is an obsession for you?

I'm currently obsessed with The Dresden Dolls. "Half Jack" is an amazing song.

I finally saw "Walk the Line" and although I'm not obsessed with any of the songs in it--didn't really grow up with Johnny Cash on the radio--I've been playing my guitar a lot more, and writing gritty, folksy stuff. Whoa.

P.S. Hey, Nanda, where's the new avatar from? Looks like your work (not fanart, I mean) but I don't see it on deviantArt--working on something on the side? Dish, girlfriend! (How 'eighth grade' was THAT?)

My work? Heh... That's quite a compliment. No, this avatar is from the proposed cover of the Comic Genesis 'Free Comic Book Day' comic, drawn by the amazingly talented Humbug. The full version can be seen here: http://www.cornstalker.com/cgfcbd07_cover.jpg

AWWWWW! That is such a sweet drawing! You know, it just reminds me that I have always thought UG would make a nice rag doll--if only I could figure out what to use for hair. Stitching the eyes would be the easy part, and obviously the signature, and I bet I could get my cousin to knit that sweater.

Well, if I can't make it, maybe I can at least draw it. I'll be back.

I've made a few Ugly Girl dolls.

And I agree, she's so stylized that she would make an excellent rag doll.

Hey, look! Your UG doll has no shirt on! And mine:

I hope the picture is not too risque--what with the no pants--but I wanted to show the type of doll it is, with the legs tied off. I've seen these filled with sand or beans, and I like them because they're extra floppy. Did I get the sweater right?

Plus, OMG CHEESECAKE SHOT!

Awwww.... That's adorable! And with an actual doll, you could still put a skirt on it. (And yes, the sweater's perfect.)
