Geocities checks whether the page uploading an image is a Geocities page. And disallows the load if it isn't.
Something I wouldn't have thought possible for an image (as opposed to html,) but apparently so... sympathy...

It works fine for me because I have referrer logging disabled, but most people don't. You'll probably have to get it uploaded to a <I>real</I> server. <IMG SRC="http://www.keenspace.com/forums/wink.gif">
