Mab, the current hiatus is because you're studying hard, right?
You better pass this semester or I'll steal all the Fish & Chips in England!
------------------

Poor Frank, missing a chance to snuggle with Myra. I know *I'd* never forgive myself. But what's wrong with him sitting down, exactly?

I'm assuming sitting down is seen as an invitation to be hit on or something, but I really have no idea. Although that would explain Leo, since he's probably getting all jealous. Myra is being awfully silly, but she's so cute.
Seriously though, *is* Frank gay? He seems freaked out by Leo's flirtation but everyone else on the board seems to think he is.
I think he's based on our esteemed cartoonist, personally, they're practically twins.
Ok enough inane babble from me.

Well, one common reason for sitting down is hiding an erection. Frank can't be thinking very clearly at the moment, or he'd realize that there are plenty of women present to take the blame.

That (Bo's reason), and perhaps he's afraid of brushing up against (or getting brushed up against by) all the people in the crowds, which may link back up to Bo's reason. He *did* say things were getting rather claustrophobic, after all.
Although I'm extremely curious as to why Leo seemed so shocked that Myra allowed Frank to sit down. Perhaps there's some sort of English saying or custom in here that we're missing.
Ahhh...delightfully ambiguous Francis. If Mab were anything like me, he'd probably keep it that way, for a long while yet at least, and let us speculate until it drives us completely mad. If he were anything like, of course...*black grin*
But it looks like something important may be revealed here.

Although that's hardly proof he's gay in any case, your average guy could get turned on by a lamppost near as I can tell.
Then again, there's always the possibility that Frank really *is* claustrophobic, or that other phobia, the fear of large groups of people - although he didn't panic on the boat parties or at the dances so that seems less likely.
Maybe he doesn't even really know what he is himself, or (like me) never really experienced sexual feelings until he was around that age. Anything's possible.

You know, I just thought of something else...maybe Mab isn't telling us because he doesn't want Frank's sexuality, be it straight or gay, to be the defining characteristic of his personality. Maybe he wants to develop Frank's character sort of outside the sexual realm, to show that his sexual tendencies aren't really important to who he is as a person - that even if he does turn out to be gay, he isn't just a gay stereotype come to two-dimensional life, as it were.
Or I'm totally wrong. Who the heck knows?

You know I always thought that Myra wasn't as stupidly naive as she might look. Just because she sees the world through rose-colored glasses, doesn't mean she's blind.
Take Care
