These are from the more recent sketchbook - started in April 2000, and would date from April-May 2000. They're only about 4 and a half inches by three inches.

The left hand side is hyper-deformed handwriting deliberately exaggerated and deformed to the very edge of legibility. What it says is basically: "It is just a collection of ways and whims"
The right hand side is one of my Ultra-Crowded Images. The first one I did covered an ENTIRE page of A4 and took me about 2 weeks to totally finish in bits and bobs. This one took me about the same length of time, as I didn't go at it every day. I can stare at it for HOURS and spot things I'd forgotten I drew.

Another of the long-necked hooded eyed women. This picture seems unfinished, but I've always liked it because the woman has more expression in her face than usual, looking more apprehensive than just plain sultry.

This still made my jaw drop when I came across it. Maybe you won't see it straightaway, but I call it "The Dance of a Mother and Child with a Dove". In fact, one day I really must try to make a painting out of it. Again, super-deformed figures, very Henry Moore-ish, very exaggerated postures, but it's just so full of joy and zing.

I don't know if I love this one or hate it. It's vaguely Dali meets Art Deco meets 1920S with an Edwardian figure thrown into it. If you don't see it straightaway, it's a female figure holding up a figurine of an Edwardian lady. She's got extremely strange arms and hands, more like lobster claws or mechanical pincers.
All these have been done with a common-and-garden ballpoint pen.
Well, there you are. Pre-Blotto artwork. When I get home, I should probably create a gallery page for non-Blotto art.
Mab
------------------

Go for it, Mab! I already put up a gallery on my site, you should too! I have to admit, now you've got me curious about what else you've got tucked away in the pages of your sketchbook...
------------------

/me wonders if he should tape his jaw shut before he goes to check out some of Mab's art next time, because he nearly dislocated it this time . . .
Gallery! Now! Before you do anything else!

Though you should really put a health warning up . . .
"These images will blow the mind to the point where it might not be able to control the body correctly. It is suggested that one sits down, tapes one's jaw shut, and ensures that one will not hit anything dangerous if one falls."
