First drawing in a long time

Post by Alphamule »

Don't I just suck? Mwahaha such a complicated use of the GIMP just to test it out. I already like the powerful tools such as the ubertool - cut, create new document and it's instantly the right size. Woot, lazy me!

I've done art but not drawings. I don't think that abstract, computer generated art counts as a 'drawing'.

Any other rookies out there want to post something?

Well I was trying to get outline for the fingers and thumb drawn quickly on a touchpad, so that I'd have something to use in a program like Blender once I touched up the joints under the thumb. Too bad my laptop has a stinky two-button pad with not third button. At least it doesn't have just the stick. heh, it's going to have to be edited on the desktop.

It would make sense to implement this as a glove, then add a bone structure, to make my first hand? I'm just figuring out how to use those tools. There's some nice Python scripts that make this a lot easier, apparently.

I'm thinking that the next step is to break it into two layers and use the right edge of the 'thumb' as a border. Once I have the two layers, I can make cylinder-like segments using one of the scripts and then join the two halves of the hand? Heh, lots of reading to do, before I can make a 3D fist.
