Convention Stories

Post by Trades »

Okay this part of the forum is for all of us that have gone to a couple of those giant meeting places called conventions. ^_^
Share your stories...
Stories of the strange.
Stories of the wierd.
Stores that are just plain uncommon ^_^

I will be sure to post some of mine here.

Just hope that you believe them ^_^

a page from the old files.

Actually this happened at Sakuracon 2004. Scott McNeil was a guest and I decided to dress up at Principal Kuno from Ranma 1/2.
Well just as I thought I ended up walking around the con and explaining how I got the palm tree to stay on my head.
Well aparently someone saw me and just as I was walking back from the tabletop RPG room a couple guys walked up to me and said... and I quote.
" Scott would like to see you man."
I looked at them and laughed, " Guys it is 3 in the morning.. how about I just show up tomorrow."
They looked at each other then the other said, " It will just take a second."
I started to get creeped out and I walked past them... and lost them before I went to my room.

The next day... after waiting 3 hours in line to see Scott McNeil I got stuck behind a group of fangirls... that showed them their Yaoi collection... all starring Duo and the gundam boys. They even had some stuff they were doing themselves... " Oh look there is one where he is doing a wo... oh wait I thought that was a finger... " ( Direct quote from Scott McNeil as he was looking through their work).

As soon as he saw me his eyes lit up ... hugged me and laughed, " I am glad to see you... your the first I have seen to dress up effectivly as Kuno." I have the picture and will post it here...

That was fun... and so far that is my first con story.. ^_^

I've been going to cons for 3 years, for a total of 3 cons.

Because there's a local con in my city, which doesn't require much travel to get to.

See, I don't really do that whole going places thing... or I'd have gone to more cons, probably.

That and I don't have a job to pay for them :D .

I am the one on the right... and Scott McNeil ( voices of Principal Kuno, Piccolo, Koga, Duo, and many other anime characters) is on the left...

Yeah... I look pretty big... just got done with a desk job... so I have since lost some weight... but I think during the holiday season I am gonna find some of it again.

I have a job... but that usually isn't what pays for it... it is my tax rebate that usually gets me through the con.
