plus I also have no sewing ability so it's going to be rather experimental (but I have a bunch of people who say they can help me)
((not the twins from kcon though, they lied when they said they could sew  ))
A life? Good Idea! Where can I download one

This begins on Thursday morning of last week.

I drove home and parked. I was super sleepy becuase I had stayed up the previous night trying to get the comic done on time. I left my car lights on.

Tried to go to work that Thursday night and my car was dead and would not give my keys back. I had to lock my only keys in my car and get a ride SUPER late to work. HOWEVER, being late to work allowed me to finisht the comic on time. Yay?

I get home Firday morning. I had to have a locksmith unlock my car and jump it. Jumping the car blows a fuse and I lose power stearing. Which, being kinda small, means I have to grab the wheel and use my entire body to turn it.

I spend my friday (which was SUPPOSED to be my day off to visit my brother in PORTLAND) sitting in a dealership for 4 hours reading PAINFUL insipid magazines until I got sleepy. This is after driving across town and getting my monthly exercise just stearing. Since I had not been to bed at this point, it was a very painful experience staying awake.

They "fix" my car. I get home- SO close to my bed.

Will's crazy cousin calls and says he's been kicked out of college and that he needs a place to stay. FUCK NO! But Will's too nice and says, "I'll speak to Kat." To which I instruct FUCK NO! And spend the next hour illustrating the point. Eventually I did sleep...EVENTUALLY. :ick:

This has been another episode of Kat is a cranky-pants when she does not sleep.

*imagines you throwing your entire body weight into turning the wheel* hehe Just be glad you weren't born before they had power steering ^^

My aunt Feather has cancer in her ovaries. My mom is going to fly out to San Francisco (almost all the way across the United States from my home) for the surgery and we don't know how long she'll be out there. Feather's partner, Cindy, is really worried. She has lost both of her parents to cancer. Her mother died recently and it was a long, painful struggle.

.. how did Will's cousin get kicked out of college? Over here, unless you plagiarise or cheat on exams something wicked, it's practially impossible to get booted (they like the monieeees).

I'm sorry Ruby :( if it's any consolation, I know several people who have recently battles cancer and won, so... it definitely can be done? I hope that your aunt is going to be one of the people who make a full recovery. *BIG HUG*

Wow, suckage.

Actually, minor car maintenance is pretty easy to learn. Changing fuses is pretty easy, and that's the most likely problem you have if something goes wrong after a jump. The things are generally plastic over the metal so you can see which one blew (there's a gap), then take it to a Kragen and just make sure it's exact.

A bad thing to blow would be a gasket. Ouch. But that was last year.

Also, it sucks to be broke. Argh.
I'm bored.

The fuse wasn't the bad part, it was the computer in the car that the fuse effected. I'll be damned if I'm touching that!

Will's cousin was thrown out because he NEVER went to class.

Sounds like my uncle. He's my age, and used to be the golden boy. He got good grades, was a sports star, got into a university straight out of high school. I was the unwanted stepchild. Bad grades, didn't get along with the family, angsty and issue-ridden. I went to a community college straight out of high school.

But he was by the beach, and that's where he went instead of class. I worked, went to classes, got into an honors society, then onto the dean's list, and transfered out to a University. My uncle's at home going to community college. Suddenly my stepfather and his parents are offering to pay for stuff.

I could put that in either thread, actually. It's kind of bittersweet.
I'm bored.

The one thing that annoys me the most is the forum changing. I've lost my account like three times and had to start over again -_-''. At least the comic is always still there though.

I was laid-off in October of last year. Bummer, but I got a severance package and a new job in January just as the severance finished. Great! More money and a step up. From a Sr. Graphic Designer in a department of 8, to a Sr. Graphic Designer in a department of just me in a smaller company. I'm running the whole show which offsets the solo status.

As of last week my company is being acquired by a much larger software company and I'm now in lay-off limbo. Will they or won't they? I may be right back where I was.

Crap.

I am lucky to never have been in a job where I could be laid off.

But I was discharged from a job because I needed a surgery

It's doubtful I'd be laid off. I think I'm the only one who can handle the hours I do.

It would SUPER suck to get laid off as an artist though. I mean, that's what you do. Some people work just for money and some people work because that's what they do- they're an artist.

And Ruby, good god! I'm going to take you on holiday for how often I see you in this crummy thread! D:
