I tried to, but Mum kept turning them back on cos she kept needing to do stuff. I offered a large amount of candles (you know how many I've got, Voyd), but she refused.

On the other hand... Is turning off your lights for an hour really doing much? People will still be using their air cons, TVs, radios whatever. I suppose it does help a tiny little bit... We should all go plant trees or something, hehe.

Oh, and speaking of candles, apparently normal candles aren't good, you have to use beeswax candles cos there's less/no carbon emissions from those. I don't get it.

Re-reading the Harry Potter books is always fun. I find something that I'd looked over before every time.

I completely agree with you Miri. Harry's just an angst-filled guy... The last book in particular annoyed me most, because he just got angry at everyone.

Harry is down with my least favorite characters in the series because he just bothered me so much Idk, thats just my opinion

Definitely agree with you; Harry narked me off so much, and I found JK's writing style immensely immature...

Plus, I hated how she killed off all of the character development for characters like Draco Malfoy just because she didn't like how people liked him better than they liked Harry. Yeah, he was a bit troubled, but he had a busload of pride, which would not have let him act like he had.
I do, however, like that she got him to try and save one of his cronies (I forget which one. Bah!)

She introduced so many characters that deserved character development and got none.
I think, yeah, she favored Harry way too much in that regard. If she was going to create so large of a cast she should have been ready to work with all of them.

They were fun reads, and you have to remember they were originally intended as children's books, and kind of got out of hand. Harry was very angsty, but then again, if for a good portion of your life you lived in a cabinet under the stairs... I'm gonna guess you'd harbor some resentment towards the world, especially at middle school age, when you already hate the world Anywho, she did seem rather... unfulfilling... in her later books especially. She seemed to shirk off a lot of characters in favor of her favorites just because. Oh well. If you don't like it, write your own book, I'm trying to!

Uni's back tomorrow! I still have three things left on my list: I have to edit someone's story, write the first draft of my script and design a city... but I got 11 things crossed off?

Honestly, I don't like Harry a whole lot. I do agree that some characters did get left in the dust. My favorites are Fred and George. They broke my heart in the end. Call me weird, but I take stories in a very emotional way.

I got another Al Franken book that I am happily devouring.
