Someday I shall teach. Also, since I plan on getting my Masters degree at Western Oregon University, I can even teach in New York. Yay for nationally credited teaching uni! If you really want to get technical, there is no such language as American, and it is simply a dialect of English, therefore the proper spelling would be from where it originated, England. This being the case colour would be the proper way to spell it as well as favour, etc. So, as I'm sure he already knows, Fox is correct. Of course, being a fellow swimmer, teacher enthusiast, and all around good guy such as myself, I am biased towards Fox's opinion. (and I also add the i to aluminum)

I was pleased as punch the first time I heard someone british say it.

I heard it was a spelling error. Someone discovered aluminium and wrote about it in a letter or something, and it was mispelt, or the recipient of the letter screwed it up, something like that. Actually, I'm not sure if that was the actual event, but I have heard it was a spelling error.

There was a frog in our backyard today! It was quite exciting. I picked it up, after having previously stepped on it (I didn't know there was a frog there, the lights weren't on). A frog!
