Someday I shall teach. Also, since I plan on getting my Masters degree at Western Oregon University, I can even teach in New York. Yay for nationally credited teaching uni! If you really want to get technical, there is no such language as American, and it is simply a dialect of English, therefore the proper spelling would be from where it originated, England. This being the case colour would be the proper way to spell it as well as favour, etc. So, as I'm sure he already knows, Fox is correct. Of course, being a fellow swimmer, teacher enthusiast, and all around good guy such as myself, I am biased towards Fox's opinion. (and I also add the i to aluminum)

I wonder why the word aluminum changed for americans.

I was pleased as punch the first time I heard someone british say it.

I love hearing it. But it still sounds...foreign to me.

I heard it was a spelling error. Someone discovered aluminium and wrote about it in a letter or something, and it was mispelt, or the recipient of the letter screwed it up, something like that. Actually, I'm not sure if that was the actual event, but I have heard it was a spelling error.

I do not like French. It is not a very pretty language. A couple of my friends study French and I give them never-ending crap about it.

I studied French for a while, and I find it to sound kind of elegant. But I don't agree about calling it the language of love...

I studied french for a quarter. HAD to drop it, the teacher had three long hairs on her chin and I could NOT remember a different language when those hairs were staring me in the eye.

There was a frog in our backyard today! It was quite exciting. I picked it up, after having previously stepped on it (I didn't know there was a frog there, the lights weren't on). A frog!

...And I keep typing 'forg' instead of 'frog' >.>
