Sketch"book" returns!

Yeah, I'm bringing this back. It may incorporate much more than I originally planned, eventually. But for starters, here's some "I was bored at work and found some free time" sketches. In case you can't tell from right off the bat, it's characters from FullMetal Alchemist. And as you can probably easily tell, I tried doing it from memory and failing miserably.


from left to right:
Gluttony ("not really")
Lust (her hand says "reverse harch"...only after did I realize her hand is backwards - plus a "God damn I suck" thrown in as a personal critique)
Ed Elric ("Who you callin' pipsqueak?!")
and an unfinished Greed ("And then I forgot how the rest of his head went").

I'm actually kinda pleased on how it came out.

It's certainly a lot better than my "Batgirl as seen from a distance!"

Damn, I really should update this more often. Damn, I should probably sketch more, while I'm at it. I've got something nice for later, but for now, have a Grumpy the Fat Hampster:

I had this idea of a pose pop into my head, and so I sketched it. I kinda like how it came out...especially the foreshortening with her leg (even though it isn't all that pronounced). I also fiddled with the force field a bit, and I was pleased with the 3D effect I acheived.

Just kinda bored and thought I'd draw Batman's rogue gallery. Batman's kinda lucky that way: he's got such iconic villains. And many of them are so impeccably dressed. How many Superman villains can you name off the top of your head besides Lex Luthor? Three, maybe four, tops? (That's not a challenge, just making a point.)

Honestly, when I think Batman, it's the 1993 animated series that my mind goes to first.

I'll certainly admit I'm heavily influenced by TAS when it comes to Batman. But I also tried mixing and matching a little from the comics (see: Penguin, Two-Face). Having a little fun with it.

An interpretation of the characters from Homestar Runner. I'm not particularly pleased with Strong Sad or the Poopsmith, and Strong Bad's kinda "meh" since it's been done before. Coach Z's kinda meh, too.

You may recognize the first panel of today's update as "borrowed" from the cover of Quentin Tarentino's film Kill Bill Vol. 1. But of course, Fuchsia isn't going to wear that much yellow, so I thought I'd color it and show it off.

Please note that this has nothing to do with the untimely death of the "real" Bill, David Carradine. I wanted to pick another outfit that was iconic, somewhat fetish-istic (as with all the previous outfits she's worn), and something a little more protective and form-fitting, so I don't have to deal with any accidental upskirt shots or blatant disregard for physics that would prevent upskirt shots. The timing of my picking this outfit and the breaking of Carradine's death was purely coincidental.
