Well...

After talking with Dennis this very afternoon to let him know that I was planning on going to Pittsburgh, I now have to back out. I got an email just moments ago from an artist friend that is in need of money I owe him. I had planned to send his payment out after Pittsburgh, but he's in a squeeze and good manga artists are hard to find!

So I need to relinquish my bed spot.

Now, that whole sharing a bed thing simply wouldn't work for me. I know its a separate topic altogether ... but old married men have a tendency to react differently in their sleep. And being so used to having my wife beside me might be a bad experience for anyone.

But I'm sure you'll all have a good time and certainly I'm VERY UPSET that I'm missing seeing Joy. JOY!!!

And meeting Redtail (again) and her hubby would've been nice. My last PittCon was where I had my first and last angina attack. That was a very tiring and boring weekend...

Well...actually the car wouldn't have been a problem: four seats and four of us.

So, yes, my friend, Rick, is unfortunately unable to join us next weekend.

Don't forget...there's always going to be more conventions and hopefully Fred will be able to join in the craziness again next year. You'll be welcome, too.

Now...that leaves me again with a spare bed and a room to myself.

If anyone needs a place to sleep and can help with the room cost, just let me know.

Since we're getting extra people, someone is also welcome to a spot on the floor if need be.

And that's the latest with me...I just pumped 812 dollars worth of repair work into my car today so it had damn well better run!

With the exception of some traveling cash, I'm ready to go.

Oooookay. So I just deleted a bunch of posts here from some dickweed who just wanted to cause trouble and some replies back to him. If he posts again, everyone just ignore him and I'll delete the posts when I log in next.

Anyway, yeah hopefully later cons will go better. It's actually been my experience that the more you try to plan for things the more they cave on you. Some of my best trips have been along the lines of "Hey, I'm free next week. Let's do something. I don't know what yet." ^^

Sorry to hear about the troublemaker, Kristy, it's always good to stay on these morons and kick their asses off the forum if need be.

I also totally agree about planning ahead...sometimes it's more bother than it's worth.

I'm just as happy hopping in my car and going somewhere at a moment's notice.

Here's to better times for Pittcon 2008 and a good time for those who make it to this year's shindig.

I mean, I don't care if the guy has a problem with someone and wants to do whatever it is he's doing, I just don't appreciate it on my forum.

If you have non-flame things to say, by all means, feel free to post.

I should probably make a page/list/something for cons I plan on attending. I'm pretty damn sure I'll also have a table at Otakon in July. I will be at Akon in June and AWA in September, but I won't have a table at either of those two. Those are the cons I go to just to hang out with friends and walk around in costumes. ^^ But I'll still be there if anyone wanted to catch me.

Absolutely...everyone should be free to speak but there's no call to disrupt a forum with flaming.

D'oh! For some reason, I thought Otakon was in August...I don't have things planned that far ahead yet but I've been considering a trip there this year. I was there with Fred in 2002 and I've been curious to go again. I'm in the mood for some otaku craziness again.

I usually go visit my Aunt and cousins in Northern Minnesota in early July but maybe I'll figure out a way to swing a trip when I get home.

If something works out, I'll let you know...I think Redtail wanted to tag along if I was going.

otakon is on rj's birthday, actually & i figured it would be something fun (and not video game related) that we could do.
...and it doesn't hurt that fred gallagher, hawk, and ananth are gonna be there. ^_^

A bunch of my Savannah friends (most of my D&D group) go together every year and since I'd always wanted to go, I'm tagging along with them this time. So I already have a ride and hotel planned since they had their stuff practically together by the time I said I could go. But by all means we shall hang at the con! I've never had a booth at an anime con before. Usually I'm just an attendee.

Otakon was a blast the one time I went there in 2002, Kristy.

I imagine having a booth there will be fun.

Anyway, once I get back from Pittcon, I'll start checking into Otakon and trying to figure out if I can manage a trip or not. I'll keep you posted, Redtail.
