Thud is such a funny word.
Though "oh bother" sounds kind of wierd coming out of anyone but pooh.
I keep reading and seeing "Oh bugger!" in my head. Though that's just because I find brittish profanity to be hillarious. ....and I really should have gone to bed half an hour ago, so excuese the disjointed ramblings.
