Taking Notes

New comic by me, Andy. I've always drawn comics for my friends, and decided to see how The Internets like them. The concept is that I do them all in class, on lined paper (But don't worry, I use extra dark lines :D ). What I draw depends on my mood, but they're generally comedic (and morbid more often than not). Topics include Life, Video Games, Anime, and other Geekity things that make me squeal with joy! (Squeee Squeee!) I'll also add essays and tests I've taken to keep up with the doodling spirit. I try to keep the comics PG-13 rated, no nudity but sometimes violent. And there's no storyline, so there's a random surprise each time! Hooray!

In some of the newer comics I've started to add little comments a la JtHM. They're generally inside jokes, but unnecessary to the comic so don't feel like you need to read them as they can get rather small.

I hope you enjoy it!

Wow.... where to start with this one....

I think you've got the right idea going with some of your jokes.... Most of them look like something that would be funny to you and your friends only. It's nice to see that "your style" is progressing... although it would be nice to see something original other than blatant Jhonen Vasquez copies... I mean paying homage is one thing.... I just think you could benefit from developing something more your own.

Now are there actual characters?

I think if you took some time to develop your drawing style and work out some better material that won't alienate your audience you could have a halfway decent comic. And I don't mean you have to lose the whole "notebook" theme. Maybe spend a little more time in putting together a nice, cleaned up version of your comic, other than rushing out something that can barely be read. (The "comments a la JTHM" look more like smudges than words)

Best of Luck!

Don't do your comics on lined paper.

Do your comics on lined paper if you want to.

Seriously. I fail to see how it detracts in this example.
