Thick Pie. Loving your Mother one Sunday at a time.

Post by MrEff »

About me:

I am a low-high-brow or high-low-brow, dialogue driven, reference engine revving to the point of explosion. I am the perverse, pointless and absurd. I am all the sweetness of life spiked with the stench of decay. I am Truth filled with Lies, gonzo at its strength. I am the difference between right and wrong and am the symbol of both. I am crafted by fools and artisans, a hideous blend of science and voodoo. I am your fear and salvation enwrapped by an force field fueled by the tears of the destitute and languorous.

We're coming up on 60 comics and have had solid Sunday updates for well over a year. We even have a special Wednesday update that's going to start rolling through.

We'd love to hear what people think!

We're looking for good honest/solid critiques here. No, "O HAI CAN I HAZ SUM PI3 NOW?"

I hope you all enjoy because we certainly love making this comic.

Yeah.... sorry about that. I was at work when I made this post so I only had that one panel (to a larger comic) available as a teaser.

So instead I decided to post with this:

Enjoy and please do check out the comic.

So a quick look through the humour fails to me. I only browsed through maybe 10-15 comics and all the humour seemed to just be random out of nowhere stuff, at that point I didn't feel like reading much of it anymore. You may want to re-look how you're doing humour, there is no set up or reason for the punch lines in every comic I saw.

The art comes off to me as extremely lazy. Cut and pasting the same poses through 4 panels and what really grated me was how in some panels characters would have arms but they'd magically disappear in the next.

Overall I can't say I like the comic in the least, it has a lot of work to be done.

Wow... Well I wonder which 10-15 you checked out... I mean if it was the first 10-15 we were still getting into our groove. We actually tried doing the humor in a different direction at one point but the fans demanded we keep going in the same vein as before... granted it's not for everyone... ( we do like to reference the hell out of obscure stuff and we've been known to cause massive google spikes with our dialog...)

And as for the art the first 10-15 were more cut and paste as I was getting into my groove with the art. The more recent strips have more "complicated" drawing elements to it (heck some are even hand drawn!) And as for arms dissapearing etc... well that's just my style.... I think it's something new and I guess it's just not for everyone...

Since there are 45-50 comics you didn't check out I invite ya back to see if maybe the later stuff is more to your liking...

But as I said before it's not for everyone. I mean there are people out there that think Archie comics are the shit.... but they just don't do it for me... not enough blood or Mister Weatherbee tossing it in ol Grundy (is that the old ass teachers name?)

thanks for your input though! I'll be sure to pass your comments on to my writer.
