Since it's been a little over a year since last I advertised DitLoaC here, so now with an archive of over a hundred pages, I'm back! But not in the creepy Jack Nicholson way.
DitLoaC follows, mainly, the life of Yitsana Mafalia who's attending the only East Coast college for wannabe manga characters. Set in a semi-ficticous New York City, Yitsana finds herself rooming with Litalra a half deamon who is the post master of the NYC branch of Hell's postal service. Due to a filing error, Yitsana is under the assumption Litalra is just a normal girl, where as Litalra thinks Yitsana is an angel.
The comic is done in an anime style, which means black and white pages for the most part, but with occassional colour. Every chapter cover is full colour, as is the series of five pages following the end of each chapter (these pages are more out-takes and are detached from the flow of the story, though give a glimpse into certain sections we wouldn't ordinarilly see.)
A cute comic, but you've got to like cute humour.
I don't want to force anyone to read it, but I would love feedback.
It's possibly 14+, and there's only a few pages through out the entire archive that might not be work safe (aprox. 5, all close together) other then that, you're good to go, so long as the boss doesn't mind you reading a comic at work!

I remember seeing your site long ago when I was new to CG. It's become more pink since then if I recall.
Let's see, I'm not one for heaven/hell comics since I became over-saturated with Spawn, but I think your twist on the issue which is more women-centric (and pretty-boyed) is at the very least, visually appealing, although if there's one thing, which I believe is deliberate, the angels look really angelic, and the demons look like goths.
I'm actually pleased you've managed to give the biggest cliche' of all time (the heaven/hell conflict) some new life with a subtle twist, which is mostly down to your characters, which are very strong-willed I notice and also your art, which is as far from fire-and-brimstone as you can get. So a nice bonus there.
My brother has commented that at times it looks like the hair on your female chars is stuck to the head, but overall I think that you have a good anime' style variant so I wont complain. You might need to check some of the spellings though, I saw a few mistakes here and there.
In my opinion, for your comic work, it seems to work better in B&W. It's not really a crit, so much that for a dark comic with dark themes, it seems to work better. None the less, your colour work is skilled and checking the kind of artwork you have done off-topic, it is pretty cool when you do employ it.
I've also noticed you have the talent of shifting styles. Looking through your other works, Face Doesn't Matter hasn't got it's last page, (not cover) although I will not comment on the story (spousal abuse ftl?) and your stuff for Ryan is pretty amusing. It reminds me of Code Lyoko somewhat!
You have a good talent for pacing and writing, so the best I can say is keep it up, there's epic stuff afoot and one needs to know!

That is such an awesome review, thank you.
Yea, it did go more pink. The original dark purple-ness (which still exists on the time-line page cause I'm to lazy to update that one), eventually bugged me as it made the site feel to "noobish" what with the lack of curves. Everything was just to boxy. And the lighter BG works better with the clouds then the original dark.
But thank you for the review, you made some of my fears dissappear, mainly the one in which I am taking an over-abused story such as Heaven vs. Hell, and there are so many out there, and I worry that it's just like all the rest.
I never thought that my style of drawing is what would really pull it out of the cliche. Heaven and Hell stories don't need to be dark, and Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne is a perfect example of that (*sobs* how I wish I could draw like that). I mean Heaven is supposed to be all about light and good, and Hell is just one big party! So why can't it be happy and silly? Heh. Sorry.
Yea, I know what yer brother is talking about, what with the hair being stuck to their heads. It's REALLY obvious when I do shots of the back of their heads. Need to work on that.
Spelling, evil. Especially since my adobe likes to crash when I ask it to check. My use of "to" is my biggest problem. Then my penchant for not checking stuff and abundant typos. Someday I will go through and fix them all.
*sweat drop* Main reason it's in b&w is cause I'm to lazy to colour, and I can abuse my screen tones. In colour I'd have to do backgrounds. Bleh.
Ugh. Don't remind me about FDM. It was such a long time ago for me, I hated the style, it was so rushed, and over all I just wish I had more time to not only expand the plot but make it more realistic over all. If I could have given the illusion of more time in that work, it really would've come out better in my mind.
Though I did enjoy working on Ryan. Not a fan of all the colouring needed for that piece. I was trying to mimic the MacHall drawing style, with a bit of Ctrl Alt Del thrown in. But mostly MacHall. Sadly, couldn't do those bold borders, and funky light effects. All I could manage was the roving eyebrows and pug noses.
*hugs* Thank you for taking the time to read DitLoaC and letting me know what you think. I will try to work on my hair issues. Especially since so many people seem to have short hair, or long hair. No middle lengths. Gotta fix that to.
Please keep reading, by the end of this chapter the really fun stuff starts! *grins* And I can't wait to draw Gabriel using her garottes. She looks so cute and innocent, but she's really nuts.

just read though your comic -
*suggestion*
what Krissy does when she spell checks is take all the text and *proofread it * out loud so she can pace it and such -
also she handles each block of text seperatly
( in a word processing doc ) and then lifts the text back over to photoshop
to put it in the comic - i know she does a lot to make the text *work*
your writeing is fun and the charcters loveable -
( even the demons are cute in a way .. and in someways that makes them all the scaryer " because" they are so cute - )
that can be a devestating weapon if you use it -
over all i like this one - ( bookmarked ! )
