Comic pitch: Goodbye Chains

Post by A. Hunt »

If it's OK, I'd like to take a minute to pitch my webcomic, <a href="http://www.goodbyechains.com">Goodbye Chains</a>. It's the story of an East Coast Communist and a thief and the adventures they have in 1880s Colorado; I like to think of it as an amusing, manga-influenced Deadwood (with somewhat less Tyranny Of Major Dad), and like Deadwood it's rated R. If you're looking for something new, I believe you could do worse than to check us out.

There are 58 pages in the archives, and the story starts here:

http://goodbyechains.girl-wonder.org/index.php?page=1

More information is available on the site, including RSS and Atom feeds, as well as links to annotations and my blog. The main comic updates every Tuesday and Thursday, and updates are announced in several places (including <a href="http://www.onlinecomics.net/pages/detai ... ics.net</a>). There's also a humor/gag strip available in the tooncasting box a little ways down the page; it updates on Sundays, but I won't link to that because there are only a pair of Christmas specials posted just yet. Right now we're on a post-Christmas vacation, so regular updates will resume on January 2; on New Year's Eve there will be a Special in the gag comic section.

Thanks for your time! Comments and the like are welcomed, and pleasant comments are particularly encouraged :D.

Well, I usually don't like Westerns and I've never seen Deadwood, but I totally loved this comic. The dialogue put a grin on my face, yep.

I'm going to add Goodbye Chains to my links.

I bookmarked this one as soon as I was through reading the archives!

First, I like the art style through the whole comic, even though it's not inked later on. You stick with the same drawing style (it's very consistent) and I know that's pretty hard to do sometimes.

The story is really interesting. I love the characters, and the dialogue is very good. I can't think of much else to say except keep going! I love it!
