A Pessimistic Sense of Inadequacy

At times we all seem to experience a pessimistic sense of inadequacy. Sometimes we just need to see things from a different perspective. Fes and Ernst are two parts of the same. While knowing they are a figment of the personalities of the webcomic artist, they know that they are, in turn, prisoners of a world of their own making. They make the best of things as a contrasting-buddy-team.

A shot from Strip #36, #16 of current Arc:

Currently Updating MWF, with bonus random comics on Sundays.

The humor is a bit weird for most people, and tends to be on the inside and "WTF". But its been clearly working for me. Originally intended to a a random, pencil-sketch comic, it has developed into an inked and greyscaled comic with an Arc that is currently running with many plans for progression.

Next week (on 9-20 or 9-22) Lucy from Mat Sherer's Badly Drawn Kitties will be a special guest to the comic! (I have obtained his permission to use her from Mat :D )
--------------------------------------------------

EDIT: I should add:

The comic is rated Web 14

The world of which the comic exists is a half Human and half Anthro. Since the land animals are Anthromorphic, there needed to be a substitution for the wildlife and food sources. While trying to come up with the weiredest thing, I thouhg that "Bugs" would be the new wildlife... only bugs are bigger than normal (think: the grasshopper is the new "bunny"). And they need to be bigger because they are also the food source.

The fourth wall is broken occasionally when the two complain about the comic (or that the wildlife is large bugs), but its intentional, minimal, in character and in conversation (not facing the 4th wall). They mostly live with the other characters that have no clue.

Notable, Rememorable comics:

I like it, Fesworks! Even without knowing the characters, the humor comes across nicely. I will definitely be back to read more.

wow thanks!

on a side note, its really weird to see your husband character kinda look like me :o (esp. if I put on my other glasses) in his current rendition.

on a side note, I also look a lot like Gordan Freeman (If I shave to the Gotee level) (See avatar), and David/"Fes" (human in my comic) is also based off of my current features.

Too funny! In fact, it was the character the sample comic above that caught my eye.. that the features of the character of Fes matches "Bill" in Life's a Witch, whose own features are patterned after my real-world husband.

hehe. I left you a message in your thread too. ;)

Anyways, On Sundays my site will occasionally have a non-canon comic to help punch out joke ideas that don't fit the story.

Need help on Properly Rating My Webcomic Please!

Currently, I have my comic rated Web 14 which says it "Contains slightly offensive material. High chance of mild swearing, partial nudity, violence and adult themes."

Now, there are a few times in which the material extends to the borderline to MA which is "For mature audiences. Contains high risk of violence, nudity, and adult situations. Viewer should be at least 17 or with parental guidance."

I have even had to re-rate one strip in particular to an MA (in hindsight, I should have realized what I did was way over Web14).

For those that have read my archive (its 90 strips -- sans two deleted strips) I'd like to know if you think the comic should be rated.

I'd like a rating suggestion for what it is SO FAR, and what is APPEARS to be becoming (if changing).

I would like to stay as Web14 with a bit of pushing it once in a while... I just don't feel that it really is up to a MA comic though, but I'd like to know what others think since there is no real committee in this self-regulation.

(I take no offense to those that have not read, don't care to read, and don't like my comic.)

I don't know if Miss Mab is still around (or checks this particular forum), but if you do read this, your opinion would be greatly apprecaited as I am using your rating system/descriptions.

(understandable if noone has time, or even if they hate my comic)
