Pinky TA

Post by Ozoneocean »

Ok, I've decided to promote my comic here because my favourite old Drunk Duck is dead at the moment...
Here's the links to "Pinky TA": main site, Comic Gen archives
(Only 18 of the latest pages on the main site, around 70 at comic gen)

Pinky TA explained: Pinky TA follows the adventures of Pinky, -a sexy Pink haired Commando, and her arch nemissis Cc. Set in an alternative version of the 1920's, Pinky TA has style, huge battleships, war, sex apeal, and very large explosions.
Pinky TA is a full colour weekly comic.

There are a few comics I stumble across where my first thought is "Damn, that is one talented mutha." This is one of them. I was blown away by the art. Your backgrounds are incredible. You put so much detail in your art is amazing. Your figures look great as well. The facial expressions are a little stiff but, to be perfectly honest, I don't have any suggestion on how to make it any better.
I'm going through your archives right now. So far, from what I've read I like. Overall I say you are doing a top knotch job. Very nice.

Thanks very much Steve!
And I totally agree about the expressions. I'm not very skilled in the characterisation department, even if I'm ok at most other things.

I'm starting a humour based spin-off series. Hopefully that'll help me.

...ASS!!!

Really though, the drawing is pretty good. The coloring is really excellent, and I imagine your proporitons are getting better. Good to see someone who actually does research on clothing and vehicle references too.

The only problem I have with comics like this is that the main character sometimes actually sticks out too much. As if their living in a different reality than everyone around them, but then, I guess that's why she's got her name for the title.

edt: The more I read it the more I'm amazed the story spends so much time on the ship. I figured some skin would be in order just by reading the title, but the days aboard it are starting to seem like they're there just to get to another night of her laying in bed, rear end up. I haven't seen such a detailed tour since the first chapter of "alpha shade". Take that as you will.

Anyway, I like where it went once she left.
Peter Cheung would be proud.

Thanks Caravaggio, ^^
Yup, a valid crit there, I milked the 'pinky TA' angle a bit too heavilly initially at the expense of the story. My readers were starting to get a little board of her by the last night on the ship

Ha! I love those early Aeon Flux cartoons. Definitely a small influence on me.

Art is awesome! I didn't really get sucked in by the story though, but I'm crap at reading comics with plots. :|
