Yay. Comicy-type-but...it's not really a comic. Graphic novel type thing.

I'll warn you first, a lot of my comics are big. Really big. Like 1000 pixels big on one side. Heh. The first 13 comics are 600 by 300, so I guess that's not too bad, eh?

There's a lot of comics. I haven't been keeping track, but it's got to be over 100. I wouldn't expect any normal person to read them all.

Each panel is a new character's point of view on the world. It might be confusing at first, but I'm slowly fleshing out the world and timeline as the comic goes on. Hopefully it makes some sense.

One last thing. I've done this on another forum, so if you're gonna post something like, "OMG it's just a photo and text etc etc...or what's wrong with you...or it doesn't make much sense..." I've heard it before. I know what it is. I know it's a little confusing. Yeah.
If you don't like it, please be more clear why. I'd really like this to be the best thing for this story, but I'm not going to completely change my style. Just to be clear. I'm babbling.

I tried to read it but it's just too confusing. It made me dizzy trying to make sense of all this abstract stuff. I realize that there's substance behind the words and that it'll all make sense eventually but for now it's just a messy conundrum to me.

Some people might see this work as gnostic but it seems to me to be more of an impulsive reaction to an incomprehensible rambling. Or maybe it's my failing, in desiring instant gratification from reading. oh fuck it that's just my superego being a little bitch and trying to impress myself after such a long haitus of proper expression of thought. now i'm feeling playful well really what i wanted to say is that i'm much more of a fan of deceptive simplicity in which there's a great deal of intention and meaning behind supposedly ordinary things like casual dialogue or subtle symbolism. ahh, now i'm trying to be too creative and original, as usual, and ruining everything! so i'll call it quits here and resume my going-ons.

It looks like a bunch of pretty wallpapers with quotes pasted on.

It's really hard to get involved with this comic- there's no point of reference, no timeline, no characters to care about.

Okay, strictly from a literary standpoint, I really like it. I love abstract text than can be interpreted differently through different readers. I love it when text can illicit emotion. You are very talented in that area. I was going, "aww, that's so sad!" half the time. I especially like the use of repetition in some cases, and also the diction and pacing. You might however, want to work on different voice. Each "memory" so far (only up to 20050526) has the same cadence, the same voice. If you hadn't said they were from different people each time, I would think the same person was speaking, just with waaay different experiences. Try alternating styles or even resorting to dialects if you have to.

From an artistic standpoint, the 20 or so pages might need to be redone. The backgrounds just aren't cutting it in my opinion. The first 5 or so kind of fit, just because it was all so abstract, but after that, I started to get queasy picking out the text from the liquified filter thingy. You can't rely purely on color and form all the time to go with the emotion you want in the words. Sometimes, it's ok, but not all the time.

Once you got to the pictures, I really liked them. They make you...I guess ponder is the right word--ponder the meaning of what you're saying. Also, IMO, it they add appreciation just to your work in general. It's hard to find the picture for something like what you're doing ^^

And since you said you had posted in other forums before, you must be well aware that your "comic" isn't suited to the majority of internet surfers. You're going to have a very select audience, so don't get discouraged if a lot of people don't have the patience to...ponder what you're writing.

EDIT: also, very morbid. Is there no happiness in this world? Kinda getting depressed here.

The whole picture-text thing reminds me of a goth Jonathan Livingston Seagull.

One half of me likes it, but it really isn't "me".

Warofwinds: Wow, seemed like you read a lot. You must be more crazy then I thought. Thanks for pointing out the voice thing. So far, no one's mentioned that. I'll definately have to go back and figure out how I'm going to make it different each time.

About the backgrounds in the first ones that all look the same...yeah, I made them all around the same time. I see what you're saying. It won't be hard for me to fix them, I'd just go back to my original photos and just take the filter off. Yay for PS. ^_^

Also, thanks for the comment about my photos. I really do take too many of them.

About the world, yes, there is happiness in some parts. Starved for water is just the part where all life is ending sort of deal, and people are trying to deal with it. I sort of wanted to go for something right before/during and after a horrible world war or genocide, something that would hurt every person in some way. There are parts that are after that, like a few years or so, when everything starts to heal, though. ^_^

The drawing you mean? I honestly can't say. I felt like drawing it, and in fact, since now that you mentioned it, I have a feeling it will play a part in later updates. So thanks for that too.

It's interesting, but I can't see myself reading more then I have so far. Which is the first 3.

I agree that they all mostly sound like the same person (the first... 15 or so)...

You said multiple people and I thought "cool! Each day a different viewpoint, building a world one tiny, unrelated piece at a time"

But they all sounded alike, which disappointed me, so I just started clicking through looking at the pictures...

i like. i'm confused and convinced it's one person, but i like.
