Exiles turns 20...

Post by PLR »

Hey Everyone,

I've pretty much just been lurking lately, but now that I officially have 20 pages, I thought I might as well toss this out there to the wolves. :)

Those kinds of stories are not the kind I'm fond of, but the art is good, and it's easy to follow so far, with good pacing. So it looks good to me, but I do wonder what a fan of those stories might think.

i like where it's going, the little pops of color really set off the darkness of the rest of the art, although your figures seem a little off at times
Zombie Vs. Shark, irreverent humor.

Sorry for the bump but I just had to drop a comment in and say just how much I like what you're doing with this comic. The art style is just perfect for a vampire comic and the story interesting and certainly opens up questions. I love the site design too, because you don't have to scroll to advance to the next page. ^_^ Perfect for the lazy reader.

The art's great, though, and I encourage anyone who likes vampire comics, urban fantasy, horror and maybe noir styled comics to check this one out. Great stuff. The little splashes of bright red are done perfectly.

Thank you very much.

I've been focusing on a lot of the negatives lately so that I can improve the overall comic. It's nice to get some positive feedback as well.

Thanks again.

And for everyone that hasn't checked it out http://www.exiles.ca in a while, the art has changed a bit and we're getting into the meat of the story now...

I'm really liking the story and art in your comic. I particularly like the noir style with the selective color. What medium are you using?
the one problem that I see is on page 19 the passage of time is a little confusing, is it the same night Mary-Agnes was almost attacked by the vampire or the next morning?

Thank you very much. Always nice to receive feedback.

I haven't specified the overall time frame. Although a couple of eagle eyed readers have noticed the passage of time by the different phases of the moon. But to specifically answer your question, from page 6-20 is one night/day, page 17 is the transition to morning.

As far as mediums, it's changed a bit over the course of the comic. Right now, I'm doing my layouts in Photoshop, inking by hand, then water colours by hand. Scanning in and touching up in Photoshop. Al the colour is added in photoshop as well. But overall I'm doing much less on the computer than I started with.

Thanks again, and I hope you continue to enjoy it.
