Will Work For Feedback

Post by Kokiro »

Kokiro! is nearing its 100-page mark, and since I have absolutely zero self-confidence in myself (and my comic) I really haven't advertized it at all until now. Naturally, that means I've no feedback, and somehow that's getting to be even more nerve-wracking than the thought of negative reactions.

So, if there's anyone who has time and wouldn't mind taking a peek and letting me know what I can do to improve (or if I should just pack up and go home), I would greatly appreciate it.

Please be honest! I promise not to cry too loudly!

9/13/06 - There is now a Kokiro Webcomic Feedback Poll on quizilla for those of you who would like to help me out in that way.
Thanks!

Alrighty, let's take a look at her. :)

Website: Very snazzy and professional-looking. I like it. There are only two things I would suggest:

1) An archive or calendar page. You've got enough comics that people aren't generally going to be able to read them in one sitting, and having to back up forty strips to find where you left off can be a real pain. Comicgenesis can create calendars very easily, so go with that if you don't want too much trouble.

2) I like forums and/or tagboards, so that people can easily leave short messages, but it's not actually necessary. More of a preference.

Artwork: Cute! However, the three (sisters?) jackers look very similar to each other. Not sure what to do about that, it was just something I noticed. Also, I greatly prefer the shift to inking - it looks better than the sketch look that the early comics had. :)

Writing: Interesting so far... but why in God's name is Pippin going along with these people? They shot her coworker and then gave her control of the timetravelling prototype shapeshifter child - why doesn't she just leave with Kokiro?

Also, be careful about clarity. There are a few spots, mainly in the beginning, where it can be hard to tell what's going on. Too much exposition is bad, but some can be necessary (it took me about twenty strips to realize that Kokiro was shapeshifting; I thought they had just picked up an extra character somewhere.)

Overall, I'm greatly amused. Keep it up, and I'll keep reading! :)[/url]

Thank you so much!!

I can't take any credit for the website because my (professional designer) sister did it for me. As for the rest, I will take your suggestions with much glee and see what I can do.

also: I think Pippin is going along with them because she is a robot, and she's supposed to serve whoever's giving commands. But if I have to explain that, then I am not doing it right. I want to redo the pencils in ink anyway so I will try to clarify about her and Kiro while doing that. Thank you for being so kind!

Very nice! Cute! And funny! I like the way you color, it's very neat. And your sister did an excellent job on your layout (I believe a layout is one of the more important aspects to presenting a comic) so thumbs up! I didn't get a chance to, but I'm hoping to read more later on :)

Wow! And you would really know about layouts, too--yours is beautiful! I feel really stupid though because I can't find your archives on that site -_-; Thank you so much for the feedback! I owe you people some serious fanart...
