Ban the Basics!

Hi,

I draw a webcomic called Ban the Basics!. It's a gag strip about group of gifted kids and usually updates Monday thru Friday.

It's a nicely done comic! Very different art style. Curious about the inspiration for it.

Yes, your style is very nicely developed. Very lively and expressive and I admire your ability to everything in ink by hand! Someday I'm going to try that with my comic.

I'd suggest, though (if you're looking for suggestions), getting some thicker, darker lines in the panels to add some contrast. The lines are a bit thin and since there are so many of them they're blending together a bit visually in spots.

There was a TV show from the 80's called "Head of the Class" that enjoyed alot and of course Peanuts ( the comic strip not the food ) ... I think there was something else too but I can't remember it...

I'm currently using Microns 3,5,8's for pen work ... if you know of a better pen I would be happy to try them out...

I like using the Faber Castell brush pens for most of my line-work. They have a nice variable width that helps make lines a bit more lively. Micron also makes some brush pens that might be worth trying out, though.
