Today mine are rotating again. Good thing too - I was pretty tired of seeing the same cats all the time.
Okay, I'm getting some complaints that the CG newsbox "doesn't look nice"
Under the same rules as the pogs and genchan, there is an alternative called uploading your own 300x250 "approved" ads. Or we could probably use something like project wonderful.
Keep in mind the two alternatives change from showing newsboxes from everyone, to only those that are approved. The sponsor 300x250 ad is not changing. Technically we have the ability to approve/unapprove the newsboxes, but this isn't in the spirit of the newsbox system.

And the outside ads can be even uglier anyway.
Well we can move to 'approved ads only' by switching the CG newsbox on the forum for a 300x250 version that can also be used outside CG (which is where we were heading with the ads anyway,) which I might do anyway if there is no sound objection. This, again just means that everyone who wants their ad to appear on the forums and outside CG (including Keenspot) has to do a new ad, both 160x600 and 300x250 in addition to any 728x90 ad's they may be using. While the GTC may be able to see, ultimately ad approval for ads that appear outside CG final answer relies on Keenspot.

Not really a good idea. The pogs work on the front page because they are loaded via AJAX, but on the forums they would need to be in an prearranged iframe.

Drat, it seemed like a good idea. I have standards compliant AJAX that adjusts page contents based on the available space, but if AJAX isn't an option here, that won't help.
