Video games

Post by Jackbrych »

I wanted to jump into some conversation but couldn't understand half of what goes on in these forums. So I figure, why not go with the only thing you know something about?

I just want to know what sort of video games people are playing these days.
And why.

I personally was playing Act of War: High Treason earlier today, because it's one of the few games I can run these days on full settings.

Punisher, Dawn of War: Dark Crusade, Battlefield 2, SSB:Melee, Metroid Prime

Punisher: cause it's fucking Frank Castle
Dawn of War: Cause it's God damn 40K but without the rules lawyers
Battlefield 2: Do I even need to explain why *I* play?
SSB:Melee: Cause it's possibly one of the greatest games ever for GCN
Metroid: Same

I just beat Twilight Princess, and I have been casually playing, WOW, Quake III Arena (old games are still fun), and F.E.A.R.
I'm glad 90's style forum signatures don't exist anymore.

Have to say that my friends and I enjoy Dead Rising greatly.
'I bet I can kill the photographer faster than you can! Nu-uh!'
'Dude! You can disembowel other survivors!''There is no God'

Been playing Battlefield 2 as well. Changed all the bot names to celebrities and historical figures.

Generals Zero Hour: since my friend and I got to it with our 'ubermod', it just doesn't get any less odd.

Also, Il2 Sturmovik: 1946. Now with personal paint schemes, harassing other players online is still fun, but can't start a server for some reason.

Waiting for World in Conflict, Ace combat 6, and Mercenaries 2

How is that? I didn't care for the AI (as in units getting stuck on where to go) and somewhat clunky mechanics in the first Dawn of War, seemed like it was mostly a battle of throwing the bigger guns at the enemy.

Edit: Oh right.
I've been playing Gears of War again.
Also replaying Starcraft in regards to the new one.

Currently playing Guitar Hero II, and as soon as I get my Wii set up, Wii Sports.

And as soon as I am able, Twilight Princess.

I too tend to play Dawn of War. I've never had a real problem with pathfinding and there can be a bit of strategy if you don't follow the obvious course of action and build the biggest thing possible. (do enjoy the Hammerhead gunships, though)

Ah. I played it last when it was new. And that was before your fancy Imperial Guard and Tau and Necron.
Pathfinding was god-awful, guess they fixed that.

On the computer, I'm playing World of Warcraft. Almost got my main to 70! Then Wrath of the Lich King is gonna come sweeping in soon and force me to work for yet ten more levels . . .

On the telly, I'm playing Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. Good stuff. The Stories still don't quite match up to the primary GTA line, of course, but still damn good fun.

*gets run over*

p.s. Made an installer for the ubermod. now I need to seek forgiveness from the base mod creators for defiling a decent game.

The pathfinding in DoW was so bad it made me want to hurt myself sometimes. Still a fun game. Just sometimes I wanted my dreadnoughts to go from point a to b without getting stuck on one another.

Sonic Rush for the DS. Why? Because I found a new copy for 10 bucks Canadian, that's why!

It's actually pretty darn good, which is a nice change of pace considering how lousy a lot of recent Sonic games have been

The Neko recommended Persona 3, never played the other two, but since it wasn't a continuous storyline kinda game I gave it shot. I am enjoying it. :D

Have you seen Dreadnoughts? They're not exactly what one might describe as "graceful" or "agile". I'm surprised the damn things can stand up, they look so top heavy.
