There's no option for "person who drops in occasionally and takes whichever side she feels like at the time". A-yup.

...Though I am often a bystander, too.

That's anti-hero. A hero that acts upon their own moral compass, defying classical definitions of hero.

Everyone and their mother is an anti-hero because it's cool. :P

I think I'm more of a noncommittal fence-sitter-type person, especially when one considers my inability to finish any jam or comic-type project I've started.

Everyone is an anti-hero, not because it's cool, but because it's morbid.

Unless you're Deadpool.

Then it's cool.

I'm the sorto of antihero who only doesn't classify himself as a hero because he thinks that they're all retards.

Example 1:

Hero: "Believe in yourself, and you can defeat anyone!"

Me: "Believe in your ability to crush people's heads between your fingertips, and you can defeat anyone."

Example 2:

Hero: "Oh Dr. Evildude, why don't you change your ways and become good?"

Me: "Shut up and d1e, foo!"

The "meh whatever" really wasn't represented in the poll options. I'd demand for money back, but I think I actually already owe more than I've given . . .

That's it, I must reinvent myself as a charming, inspiring hero to defy all your wickedness! Oh... if only I had thumbs...

I ended up voting 'Hero' cause there's a million billion anti-heroes and I was on the fence anyways.

Besides, what would Moomanman think of me if I voted otherwise?

You're the Hero in my book, Sortelli. But that only applies to Team Ort.

Really. The best example of an anti-hero is Ash from the Evil Dead/Army of Darkness series. Do all you self-proclaimed anti-heroes really want THAT as your ideal role model?
If you aren't a bumbling idiot, doing the right thing for the wrong reasons, or doing the wrong things for the right reasons, then are you even sure you're really an anti-hero?

Though here's a question: what the hell is an anti-villain?

I'd argue the black knight archetypes being anti-villains i.e. Predator, Serena Williams, Venus Williams, etc.

The Predators defy hero and villain archetypes. They are what their name indicates. Their motivations are rarely put into play. It's more of a gimmick, at least in the films. A monster, not an actual character. Though we can distinguish them as antagonists, it's more of a Character versus Nature style of conflict rather than a Character versus Character.

And I have no clue who the other two are. Care to provide links for this lazy atriphant?

Hrm....

I would put forth that an anti-villain would be a person doing evil things for a reason he sees as righteous. Like a religious fanatic, or that crazy dwarf paladin from Goblins....

Y'know, the opposite of someone who does the right thing, but for selfish reasons.

I'd rate it as:-

Hero: Batman, Superman, Spiderman

Anti-Hero: Punisher, Wolverine

Stuff like that. But the definition here seems to be different so plop.
