Having once worked in a Burger King, I would never eat there again...

I'm beginning to wonder about the rest of the country, then. All of my friends have worked in fast food at some point in their lives, and not a one has ever said to me "After working at _____, I would never eat there again." They may say "Ugh, after being around that kind of food all day, I couldn't imagine eating it," but that's something else entirely.

More likely there's just been a lot of news coverage of contaminated vegetables this year. Unless someone can show me an actual rise in the number of reported e coli cases I'm going to assume the green and leafies are as safe now as they were last December.

As for Taco Bell... the problem's probably pretty local. It's not like all of TB's lettuce comes from the same field, and the handling of the food would depends on who's handling it.

You guys are just reinforcing my doubts. I'm never eating fast food outside of southern New England again!

I never eat at McDonalds because Burger King is cheaper.

I'd sooner blame Danny than the "grade E" meat.

I try to avoid fast food in general, but if "forced" I go to Harvey's, KFC, or Taco Bell (and Dairy Queen, but only for their desserts). If I'm going to get sick, I'm going to get sick. I know how poorly they may or may not prepare food at these places. But I also know that high end places can be just as guilty as their plebeian counterparts. Hell, I once saw a guy pee in a meat freezer at one of the most high end chain grocery stores around here.

It doesn't matter where you go or what you eat: anything is a potential medium for the cause of upset tummies.
