The copyright has expired on the classic feel-good Christmas tale "Santa Claus Versus the Martians". It's now free to download.

Ooh, I saw the MST3K episode of that. Droppo is the laziest man on Mars

Hooray for Santy-Clause!

Yes, I also possess the MST3K version. Despite how royally bad it is, I do think that the cast realized this and just had a merry time with it. I can imagine everyone just having a good laugh at all of the stupid hijinx and in jovial holiday fun.

The Mexican "Santa Clause" movie on the other hand...

And besides, there are worse movies out there *CoughRedZoneCubaCough*.

Radar Secret Service!

The Mexican Santa Claus movie was really odd.. Didin't it have a bunch of random songs from kids from all different nations? And the devil was involved in some way.

I pity anyone who watches this without the help of Joel and the Bots. Trivia: the girl martian is Pia Zadora.

"Daddy, will you buy me a Golden Globe?"

Ah, for fun. ^^

Yeah, the scene with the international songs was offensive on so many levels. Technically it was Pitch, A devil, but not THE devil.

One of my friends kept talking about this movie and I wasn't sure if he was high or making it up. But I guess he was horribly, horribly right.

Did you know you can download AVIs from Google video? You silly Windows users are missing out. :P

I opened this thread fully expecting a free download of The Core.

You disappoint me, sir.

I was anticipating Plan 9 From Outer Space. The official worst movie ever.

Okay, anyone who believes some other miserable excuse of a movie is, in fact, the very worst needs to download and watch this in order to be re-educated.

Also so I can laugh at your pain.

I've seen it but I've also repressed most of the memories.

Already seen it, actually. Like a few other folks here, I own the MST3K version. I still say The Core.

Thing is - if I may be serious about it for just a moment - Santa Vs. Martians was a kid's movie, yah? Its quality wasn't going to be stellar in the first place, and there are a lot of kid's movies from around that time (and, let's face it, even in current day) that made even less sense. Comparatively speaking, movies that were actually trying to excellent pieces of cinematic glory and fell horribly short of that ideal are far worse, in my opinion. Really, Manos: Hands of Fate is about the same quality level as Santa Vs. Martians, and it has the added stink of utter failure and ruined lives clinging to it as well.

But yah, this isn't at all to say that this isn't a horrible soul-wrenching black hole of a film, of course. People looking to get their "so bad yet so good to laugh at" fix should be well served by this cold dish of cinematic slop.

For those that want to watch Plan 9 from Outer Space, that is also up for free on Google Video, just giving a heads up. Also Michael Nelson of MST3k fame did a riff of Plan 9 on his rifftrax site.

As for Santa vs. The Martians, I own the MST3k version which also came with another gem "Manos":The Hands of Fate. I actually never finished watching the movie because it was so bad, even with the help of Joel and the bots. Actually did Joel do that movie or was it Mike...I forgot.

Eegah.

Deathstalker and the Warriors from Hell.

Laserblast.

The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies.

All of these are worse films than SCCTM.
