That's a pretty good idea, if the initial idea works.

I tried adding you to my buddy list, but you're apparently not on Windia.
Windia. Gah. Okay, I'm starting up a dude in Windia: LevaantXIII

The other two were in a different server.

Well, at least some people on this board are willing to give it a go, and not just be doubting thomas'! I seriously found some posts in here annoying. Instead of just posting about how it won't work and whine and bitch and complain about how shitty MMOs are and how we should be working on our comics, I recommend you just shut the hell up and let us do our thing. :p

Besides, if all I did was work on my comic, my life would be pretty shitty. Everyone needs to unwind. I'd be glad to mention this guild on my comic site.

Hmmm...

How about, to be allowed in the guilds you have to stick to your update schedule :P.

I'm trying to be rational and considering that 1) some people are involved with a guild on their current server and don't want to leave (like myself) and 2) the player pool is split up by location, so US players would be separate from Euro players

So, while it'd be fun to play with fellow CGers, I'm not seeing the numbers or the involvement (assuming CGers would be casual to very casual) to make it worthwhile. Personally, I've been in a small casual guild of friends before, and there wasn't much interaction since people were rarely online and even when they were there was usually too much of a level gap.

So, I figure that if there's a desire for a CG guild anyways then the bulk of the involvement would have to come from the readers, who are presumably more active gaming-wise anyways (since they're not the ones spending time drawing comics.) I'm thinking of models like Scott Kurtz's guild, and Penny Arcade's guild/s (I don't remember if Gabe and Tycho have the same guild or not), where the guilds are mostly made of up fans wanting attention of the notable creators and sharing comraderie based on their liking of the comics. Of course, that example's on a much large scale, but if several CGers pooled their readerships together it could work to some extent.

yeah, that goes without saying..

making a guild is cheap, making the tabards isn't at this stage, either way..

if a CG guild is to be formed within World of warcraft, or any other MMO, we need a name..

Yeah, i know that much, there's not a great deal of us on the single game, let alone the single server cluster.
What i figured is that we get the artists in on the same guild, then invite some of our readership along for the ride..

Hell, jams could arise from this, hilarity tends to ensue when you get us lot in the one place :)

I can't play MMOs with you guys! You'll find out that I'm actually just like all the jerky asshole characters in my comics!

so?.. you can throw together more material for your comic :D

Hrm, DoomBees... Cult of the Doombees?

it needs to have a good ring to it than just plain "Doombees" :D

also, this is technically open to all webcomic folk, not just CGers, that means any folks from DrunkDuck can join in also =]

I dunno. I think someone may have already done so. If no one has, I'll gladly spearhead one on the US servers.

Either way, i like the use of "DoomBees" in the guild names, though, no matter what game one is involved with.

Well, I've already made a Global channel, "ComicGenesis". I'll check for user preference on server before making an SG or VG.

Yup, I'd be up for joining a Webcomicker's guild on WoW, but alas, I fear I am on the European servers, which, although it limits me from joining in with the american players, on the plus side, also stops me from having to play with the american players :P:)

Anyway, whichever server I'm on, my main character is Rickford. (Or Ryckford if it's RP)

I'm currently on the Horde side of the Neptulon Server.

If anyone wants to start up a European server guild, I'll join.
