There should be mental stability tests required of women having a baby...
This is going in my notebook titled "Things I Didn't Know about Surface Dwellers."

Ugh, that's sick. That poor baby.

It's not really that that's "wrong on so many levels" as that's just really really reallywrong on one level.

Just when I think people can't get any stupider, something like this comes along.

That is truly, truly disgusting, and thank god they got the other kids out of that household immediately. That woman clearly should not be allowed near any of them until they're old enough to run the other way on their own.

That said, I'm pretty disgusted by the comments left about that bit of news (on the CBS site, not here on the forum). Not every act of psychosis or idiocy is a political issue or a sign of the inevitable decline of all that is good and sane in the world.

^Seconding orion's statement. It's certainly horrible, but the comments showed a total lack of perspective. One, Bush has nothing to do with this, so I have no idea why somebody thought it was his fault, and two, sadly, things happen worse than this on a daily basis in third-world countries.

And I am still, continualy appalled by the human race. Seriously, how is that kid going to explain that to people in the future?

Fuck! What comes over you to think using a little one like that?!

I honestly think parenting classes should be required for everyone who's doing the nasty. You play, be willing to pay, if not, we lock you away.

Do parenting classes typically include things like "do not use your child as a weapon" or "infants have soft skulls, so don't swing them by the ankles into other harder skulls"?

Nah, just sterilize the whole world. Sure, we won't be around in a few more generations, but that won't be our problem, will it?

Man- this sounds like something that would happen in a puppet show (it seems very Punch and Judyish)

What is wrong with these people? I thought our brains were hotwired to protect our young.

This reminds me of a teacher I had in high school who advocated for parenting liscences to weed out these sorts of people.

No, that's when you start your brain with screwdriver.

There totally ought to be a test to see if you're capable of being a parent. The physical test is just too damn simple.
