I think the big question here is why are we bothering to think about such an unremarkable and useless character (as, indeed, everyone in said game was -- nothing really distinguished one person from the next, stat- and skill-wise, and character development was minimal)? The only thing that kept me going in that game was the card minigame, and the possibility of acquiring more cards by advancing in it. ...Well, and maybe the skill system ... card-playing made it that much easier to abuse.
Anyway... With the magic of your television's colour adjustment, it could be anything.

I was going to say something along the lines of 'It's FF8, does anyone really care?' but I didn't want to sound mean.

At least I'm not alone in my dislike of it.

To be fair, if we took out the emo shit, the crappy battle system and the horrible story, you'd have Selphie. And Selphie's pretty awesome.

Point. And whatever problems there are with FF8, Squall is pretty cool in Kingdom Hearts.

Orange.
The real question is "Is Quistis Hot or Hawt?"

I dunno, the pointlessness of the question/argument was pretty palpable for just about everyone to begin with.

We can at least say that it was better than its predecessor [again, because of the mini-games]. *is torn apart by rabid fangirls*
Anyway, I don't think it's 'mean' to state your opinion on a game (hell, you don't even have to back it up, although complaining about lack of character development or a seriously lame-ass final boss makes you sound more qualified to complain); I don't mind if someone mocks something I enjoy - to each their own. Video games are not Serious Business.

it's also quite obvious that some people will perceive it to be orange whilst others will perceive it to be pink, just because of how we're conditioned.

I voted pink. Just to be contrary to everyone who voted orange.

Peach. Or I guess Salmon. Whichever is the more orangey-pink color. Cause I always saw Salmon as being being orange than pink and this is more of a peachy orange. It's Peach, and the Internet color chart can go to hell.

I haven't even heard of the game, so I'm voting to screw your poll up.

I should know this, for I have played FF8 using every character, at every moment, for every event (which was at least 40 times, probably 50+) with a save file at every story event with every character. No lie, I had no life in middle school, and FF8 was the reason why.
Quistis' outfit is a very dull pink, like a peach I guess...more like salmon actualy. It doesn't pack that punch pink usualy carries, and Quistis' shinning moments are usualy in dark places (the "secret place", Caraway's Mansion) so you'd think it's orange, but its pink.
Keep the character designer in mind when evaluating these things too. I've seen Tetsuya Nomura use Pink before (like in Kindom Hearts) but not orange very much. The guy likes dark colors, but usualy has one or two characters to contrast that color scheme (...like in Kingdom. Bouncer too)
*SergeXIII combs the interweb for the Quistis toy pick, for he only has Squall...
See thing is if the color is off on your monitor, she looks like she's wearing orange with red sleeves. You can tell something is wrong because her skin tones start clashing (The girls are all way paler then the dudes... cept Laguna). This is what she's supposed to look like color wise:
P.S. I was out proquiring a gift for my friend's birthday, Elder Scrolls III. Then I played me some Halo. Then Skies of Arcadia... and then Step Mania. Now I'm gonna walk a bit, and kick ass in Soul Calibur.

Serge feels de need. The need to redeem FF8.
Ahem.
I've played quite a few RPGs in my time, and many are increadable in a specific way often overlooked by reviewers.
FF8 is one of the victims of this singleminded attitude. See, FF7 was really really cool. Bad ass even, like when Cloud yanked Sephiroth's sword out of his stomach, lifted Sephiroth still holding the sword by the blade he just removed from himself, and chucked Sephiroth into the life stream. Yeah, beat that Chuck Norris.
Thing is, FF7 is not FF8 and FF8 is not FF7. While FF7 was arguably going for coolness with its bad ass cast of heros and villians, FF8 went down a different road. See, FF8 is one of those few RPGs that focus on beauty rather than bad assinitude.
The magic of FF8 was in the character development of Squall and Rinoa over the length of the game, for in that is where their affection for one another is expressed. There's Laguna's failed attempt to start a family in a time of war, there's the comrodery between he, Kiros and Ward, and lots more depth to the characters (I REALLY want to SC right now, so i want to wrap this up...). Did you know Zell has a girlfriend? She's one of the girls in the library, the one with pig tails. Its a side quest.
When I think of FF8, i think of the scene where Squall carries Rinoa from FH to Estar, talking about the machinations of his mind and feelings to her unconcious body.
When i think of FF7, I think of that bitchin' motorcycle chase when escaping the Shinra building.
They're just different, but because of that "FF" before the number, you'll compare 8 to 7, 7 to 6, 6 to 5 and so on. FF8 is the most unique FF by far, and so catches some flak.
Yeah, the battle system was odd but allowed for tons of customization and pwnage once you learn how to master it (once you learn Life refine after you get Siren, head to balamb and blow all your dough on cabins. Eventualy you'll get 100 curagas on everyone, juntion that to HP and your invincible for the bulk of the game baby.). FF8 is my favorite FF by the way.

And we're back. In today's news, a local man decided to cut down on his coffee intake, then said, "Screw it." and poured himself another cup. And now the weather.
