One road trip from a flat lander to mountain country will wear through brakes in a hurry.

We are supposed to, but the average person uses the 3' rule instead, "if I can still see your license plate I'm not close enough" X_xWarren wrote:You don't follow the "3 second rule"?Kisai wrote:In BC, if you catch up to someone with alberta or saskatchewan plates, it's common knowledge to keep 3 vehicle lenghts back, because as soon as they come up to a corner, they SLAM on the brakes. The lowest priced house in the area is about 23000$ ... for a 2 bedroom bi-level home.

Or roughly the same price as a mid-size car.

To veer slightly back on topic, this story is getting way too much press, I think.
It was on the local news last night. That I don't have a big problem with, since it's one of those human interest stories they can fit in right before sports.
However, it appeared on the front page of today's local paper. A story like this has to be buried to page 8 at best.
And it's not like it went from paper clip to house. I was a huge series of trades apparently. So you duped a lot of people into seemingly reasonable trades, good for you. But I don't think this ought to make national news.

The worst trade that I ever witnessed was a long time ago. Back when Pokemon cards first came out.
My pal, name was Ken, bought a pack, his first one and obtained the legendary (back then) Charizard card. Holographic, first edition. I never had anything like that, closest was 1st ed holo Gyrados.
Anyway, we're at lunch right, and before I could say anything he trades the card to some random dude for less then a dollar because he was short the cash to buy a new pack. Oh man, it hurts every time I recall this story.
To this day I still haven't let that go.
