Computer games are as much tailored to men as mainstream comics. It's all testosterone fueled, macho power fantasies with scantily clad women in the background. Of course women gamers are rare.
Nintendo is a notable exception, of course.

yes but female gamers are quite prevelant if not very publicized at this point, a girl liking video games is not that uncommon especially in a crowd such as this which is not an accurate representation of the general population but instead a small sampling filled mostly with people who share interests in the realms of comics, video games, literature, and movies, in this group especially a girl who plays video games or likes MGS should not be that shocking an occurance.

That's why we needed Spike TV; it's about damn time men got a channel of their own. Lifetime and Oxygen were certainly threatening to smash the last remainging bits of my heterosexuality. Oops, this is off topic.
I seem have trouble finding people of either sex that likes the same games I do. Most have never even heard of the ones I like. Anyway, my sister is the one that introduced me to Castelvania and Contra, both of which are "manly" I guess.

as long as you're not playing dating sims, it should be okay.

I don't like sims. Unless you count the time I rented Sim City on SNES, destroyed everyones' cities, saved the file, and then returned it.

I had lots of fun with smashing the cities, mind you I'd always save first. I did have a silly strategy though, to save money I never funded the fire departments. If a fire broke out, I'd just bulldoze everything around it so it had nothing to burn. I did have a fire burning in the middle of my city for 6 months once, but I didn't spend a dollar on fire protection

....is there something odd about that? It's a good series.

some people are still under the impression that girl gamers are rare.
No, I know they're everywhere, I've just yet to find one that plays MGS
