As for grievances.....I never got the mario statue you get at 500000. D:
yeah, they took out alot of the good stuff when they converted it to PC
You do realize the PC version predates the SNES version by years right? (1989 PC) The PC version was one of the first games to incorperate pirate backlash. It would always ask you for a code from the manual 5 minutes in, if you entered it wrong, your city would self-destruct.

Honestly. I -LIKED- messing up the code a lot to see how quickly the city could be trashed.

It's fun if you have a Game Genie. Then you can get unlimited funds, build a massive city, then break it.

The SNES version is interesting in it's own ways, but the PC version is superior, if only for the fact that you can move the cursor with a mouse instead of the bloody control pad.

And it's so damn hard! Contra III happens ocasionally too.

I'm currently trying to beat R-Type Final on PS2. Irem actually gave it an ending, seeing as how it's the last one they're ever making. A bold move on their part.

I found a perfectly preserved copy of Out of This World for ten bucks at Space Cat. Then I played it on my Genesis. It was one of the most beautiful and amazing games I've ever come across.

I don't really have any big grievances. I had a major vindictive moment, though, when I found out the wretched kind of life my ex-roommate of two years is living in. Poetic justice to the max.

The latest post in his blog is just classic: http://www.xanga.com/aerislocke

Quotes of evilness: "(1) A common saying is "An eye for an eye" "makes everybody blind". Psh. Amateurs - if you're going to beat somebody at their own game, you might as well do it in a landslide. An eye for 2 eyes and a leg is how I play. Roommate problems - piece of cake!" -evil ex-roommate
"Wow, how I hate most black people. The majority of them are either mean, stupid, violent, and/or poor. Most of the blacks I have run into have that thuggy stupid look, like they want to mug or kill you for fun." -evil ex-roommate
"So, the girl decides to indeed CALL THE POLICE! I get my very own police officer to talk to. The girl = all sobbing and crying to the police. The short story is: I really didn't get to talk to the police, maybe 1-2 minutes at most! She talked to them for like 1.5 hours. The whole conversation from the police was like: He's not breaking any laws. STFU little girl and stop wasting our time!" -evil ex-roommate

I guess I have a grivience. The low beams on Mom's car stopped working last night (High beams still work) and she started crying about it, which made me feel like shit. She just overreacts to things so often, and it really wears on me. She's one of those people that if she's unhappy, she makes sure the rest of the house is unhappy too.

Also, I heart my SNES decks. I have three working ones, though the little ring that holds the power cord in the back has broken off of one, so it has to be secured with an elaborate pully system to make sure the power doesn't suddently cut out in the middle of a game. Speaking of games, I played some Mega Man X the other night. I love it so.

X-2 is the best one. It was expensive when you could find it until it was released on a collection of the Mega Man X games. WHOOO!

I have a great story about Out of this World, but it won't really be funny unless I tell it to your face.

You guys could probably just get an SNES emulator and get Sim City in ROM form. I know you're not technically supposed to do it, (Unless you own the game, in which case it's perfectly legal), but I mean COME ON, who is actually making money off the SNES version of Sim City at this point? If it was some new, wildly popular game, I'd be all for buying it. But really, it's too much trouble to try and get a game like that the normal way at this point.

You can keep ROMs on your HD for twenty-four hours before it becomes illegal. You just have to play games exceedingly fast.

That's a myth. Nobody really knows what the rules for keeping ROMs are. It's probably technically illegal to have them in any way shape or form. In my opinion, it's all right if it's an old out of print game that nobody's making money on anymore and/or you own it. It does get a little tricky when it comes to games that have been remade or rereleased though.

Ah, abandonware. If the people who owned the games knew about it, they might try to make money off it. Thankfully they're mostly out of business publishers so they couldn't do anything to you anyways.

They do know about it. I think most of them just don't care. Some developers even support it. Eric Chahi, for example, released a free and updated version of Out of this World. (As a windows .exe, but you get my gist.)
In fact, Nintendo is emulating a whole series of NES, SNES, Master System, and Genesis games on the Wii. I think there's some sort of small one-time fee, but it's essentially easy emulation out of the box.

I disagree, but only cause I usually rather play games on a control pad, as opposed to keyboard/mouse.

That and the PC version of SimCity wasn't full of fun Nintendo stuff.
